Rating and Comments

An analysis of your own writing and how it enacted or encouraged (or failed to enact or encourage deliberative exchange)
This should include: Examples and explanations of your contributions An analysis of your language as contributing to or shutting down deliberation Thoughts about ways you might have used language or interactions differently

An analysis of what kind of discussion took place and whether it became a debate, a deliberation, or a series of disconnected monologues
This will involve analyzing the responses you receive as well as how well they furthered the purpose of the discussion. This should include: Examples and identification of various lines of discussion An explanation about why you would characterize the highlighted portions as you do

A reflection on whether the discussion was productive (and how you define productive)

A discussion of the challenges posed by online deliberation. For this part, you may wish to compare the discussion to the Civic Issue Forum in which your class participates
This should include: References to Gastils PCD text to help contextualize your conclusions A reflection on the hopefulness or hopelessness online forums provide for productive deliberation, exchanges, influence Inherent drawbacks or benefits to the site you chose Suggestions of sites that might provide a better or worse forum, and why

Consider how this kind of exchange might have been fostered more effectively given changes you would advocate, if any Essay Organization/Structure
