Board Report
Dear Missionary Family, Blessings to you all. Here is a synopsis of the July board meeting: 1. We are seeing a record number of applicants. 2. We are approving virtually every new family for one to two years, then re-appraisal. 3. Finances for most missionaries and for the home office is good. 4. We adopted the 1974 Lausanne Covenant as a extension and clarification of our statement of faith. 5. John Harrigan is rotating off the board. Thank you, John, for your service. 6. We accepted Ray and Stephanie Smith as new board members! They live in Wilmore and are quite involved in the house of prayer and in missions. Welcome! It is my intention to visit all of you as the Lord allows. I have not been able to visit Janine, Jim and Chelle or Amanda. I am anxious to come! Being with CI missionaries is a great joy for me.
Back row (L to R): John Harrigan (rotating off the board), Paul Moran, Ron Buskey, Jeff Henderson (Chairman), Ron Harris, Duane Jones. Front row (S to R): MaryAnne Moran, Joel and Jo McKenzie, Stephanie and Ray Smith (coming on the board)

All in the family

We recently had the privilege of being with some friends from Russia who we knew during their seminary years. Over lunch, they asked us how many people had been added to our family since they left. I had to stop and think...

Sharon and Brent had married so that was one. Cris and Daniela had gotten married, that made two. Then, most recently, Sharon and Brent had our first granddaughter! On April 27 (Sharons birthday!) Isabella Grace Rempe was born. She is THE most beautiful baby in the world. Cris and Daniela were married April 7, 2012 in Ecuador where they are living.

Also, the CornerStone family has been doing its own expanding and contracting...

New for Casa de Fe, Ecuador

The Esteses are already in Ecuador. The Becks and the Hayeses are raising funds to go and were here for orientation just last week. Yay for all!

Rick and Rebekah Estes arrived in Ecuador just a few weeks ago. They are working on visas and will be working with teachers at Casa de Fe.

Matt and Christy Hayes are raising funds and hope to be in Ecuador the first of 2013. Kyle and April Beck live in Louisville, KY and are beginning their fundraising. Kyle just graduated from Southern Seminary with a MDIV and April is an RN.

New for Honduras

Heather Matthews is hoping to leave for Loma de Luz to join the nursing staff in October. She is the great niece of Zina Lillard.

Karl and Cindy Pokrop are approved as short-term, part-time missionaries. They have been going to Honduras for a few weeks/year for several years. They will continue and perhaps expand their time after Karl retires.

With some sadness, we have to report the contracting side of things...

Two Casa de Fe teachers, Melissa Medlin and Kelcy Gallagher have completed their short-term missions and are back in the States. Both are considering a return to Casa de Fe after their studies are complete.
Kelcy and Melissa at Casa de Fe John and Penny in Rome

John and Penny Alden are transitioning to long-term, part-time status. They plan to live in the States and make trips to Loma de Luz to keep the Scholarship projects going. Penny will continue to do some of her current work from home via internet connection to the Hospital server. Aint technology great!!

So we hope this keeps you at least a little informed about the comings & goings of our CI folks!! We love you all & appreciate what every one of you is doing for the cause of Christ!
