Introduction One of the most important positions in any company is the executive secretary, also known as Office Administrator.

The work assigned to the Executive Secretary position may vary from one firm to another depends on the type of service provided by the company but most of the tasks assigned to this position are common between the companies. The Executive Secretaries almost responsible for the administrative tasks among the other responsibilities. This report will briefly describe the main roles and tasks done by the Executive Secretary and the skills should be owned by each secretary.

Skills There certain skills that the secretary need to begin the career. The Executive Secretary should have specific skills that help him/her to achieve their roles successfully in the organization he/she work with. There are two types of skills related to the Executive Secretary, the administrative skills and the normal secretary skills a. Administrative Skills The following are some of the administrative skill that every Executive Secretary should have: Analytical and problem solving skills Analytical skills require selecting the best way to solve the problem in case it can be solved. If the problem cant be solve with the regular solution the Executive Secretary should find the best alternative choice that can solve the issue in less time. Decision making skills Time management skills
Time management is essential skill to be effective Executive Secretary. Using time management technique can optimize the consumed time on each of the assigned task. Which mean the company will benefit better from you since you will be available for other tasks.

Normal Skills The following are some of the basic skill should each secretary have: Basic computer skills All secretaries should learn at least some basic computer technologies like Microsoft word, Microsoft Excel , Microsoft Outlook .etc... These tools will help him/her doing the required tasks faster. Excellent communication skills The strong communication skills are essential for the secretaries since most of their tasks require communicating with the boss as long as other people inside or outside the company.
