Australia Awards in Myanmar

The purpose of Australian aid to Myanmar is to help people overcome poverty. AusAID focuses on four key objectives in Myanmar: improving the delivery of basic education and health services to the poor; improving the livelihoods of the rural poor; addressing the needs of conflict and disaster affected people; and supporting reform and improved governance. Australia Awards are aligned with AusAIDs objectives in Myanmar but have the specific goal to enhance leadership, knowledge and technical skills of Myanmar people, and to drive sustainable development. AusAID is seeking applications from highly motivated individuals that have a strong desire to support development in Myanmar in the long term. AusAID will assess applications based on leadership skills, academic competence and most importantly, potential to impact on Myanmars development challenges in the future. AusAID offers awards on the basis of merit, transparency and equal access. We strongly encourage applications from men, women, people living with disabilities, ethnic minorities and other marginalised groups.
