Syllabus for ES 19* Numerical Analysis Part I: Vision, Mission, Goals and Objectives

Vision: A lead institution of higher learning committed to excellence in Science and Technology towards sustainable development of the Caraga Region. Mission: To provide the Caraga region with relevant programs and produce competent individuals who are scientifically trained, technologically skilled, and morally upright, through quality instruction, research, extension and production. Goals: To achieve Center of Excellence (CoE) in BSITand Center of Development(CoD) in BSGE and Level II for the other degree programs To offer MSIT,MS Remote Sensing (MSRS) and PhD IT programs To produce degree holder and techno-vocational graduates who are passers of national competency/licensure examinations. Objectives: To enhance the educational processes and, ultimately, the competitive advantage of our graduates in the Caraga businesses and industries. To focus our efforts to utilize available resources efficiently. To strengthen the college and stakeholders partnerships that lead towards a thorough student development. To seek and devise quality programs for faculty development. To identify constraints and develop effective strategies which will provide optimum solution. To provide engineering and information technology solutions through research and development.

COURSE COURSE TITLE COURSE DESCRIPTION ES 19 Numerical Analysis This course deals with numerical solution to roots of equations, simultaneous equations, curve fitting, numerical integration and differentiation, Ordinary Differential Equations applied to initial value problems, Ordinary Differential Equations applied to Boundary value problems, and Partial Differential Equations applied on Elliptical PDEs, Parabolic PDEs and Hyperbolic PDEs. 3 Units Differential Equations At the end of the course, the students will be able to: 1. 5 Note: A student will be exempted from taking the Comprehensive Final Exam when he/she have a total percentage of 60% or higher based on the results of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Long Exams and Problem Set. Students exempted from the Final exam who will take the Final Exam will have an equal chance of increasing or decreasing his/her grade.
