Squash markets from Florida and Mexico are strong as cooler weather has affected supplies and caused a slight gap in Yellow Squash. We are still 2 weeks away from northern Florida production. Zucchini markets are strong as well, with fair quality. Tomato markets will see a rise during the coming week; with a chance for moderate increases in the following 1 2 weeks through Mid-March due to a decrease in volume from the Mexico and Florida growing regions. Florida has an expected reduction in volume during late-Feb that is being exacerbated by colder than normal temperatures over that past week.

The Apple season continues with lower than average supplies especially on smaller fruit. Markets are slightly stronger as demand has increased. Quality is good. East Coast markets are limited; however California and Mexico are seeing shorter supplies. Quality is good. Supplies are better on larger sizes. Not much change with lemons, quality is good and fancy fruit markets are higher across the board. Lighter supplies have caused markets to rise. Quality and availability are both good. Larger sizes are a little tighter. Red Grape markets are stable as offshore volumes increase. However, Green Grape supplies tighter with occasional instances of amber color noted. Red Globes and Black Grapes are available. Quality and volume are fine. Historically, Cantaloupe volumes are lighter as Honduras winds down and Guatemala is starting. Smaller sizes are limited. Honeydew markets are steady and quality and consistency is better. Supplies are tight as product arrives from Honduras and Mexico. Mexico is 40% lighter in volume than previous years. Quality is fair on seeded and seedless. Bosc, Anjou and Bartlett varieties are coming from Washington. Markets are stable with quality fruit. Supplies are consistent with good quality. Brix has been averaging 13% with average internal gold color.
