Other Programmes - Academic Resource and English for Speakers of Other Languages/English as a Second Language Providing support and services to all students (who meet our admissions criteria) is a goal at CIS so that each learner achieves and enjoys learning within the regular academic programme with minimal assistance or accommodation. While all students are registered in regular classes and academic programmes, CIS provides limited services for students with learning challenges. All applications are reviewed and whenever possible, any support services that your child may require are determined and communicated before the admissions decision is made. If your child is currently receiving special services such as remedial teaching, speech/language therapy or an enrichment programme, please inform us at the beginning of the application process. CIS support programmes are compulsory if determined to be necessary for any student, by the outcome of assessment of that student. The Application Fee is non-refundable. Advance Deposit An advance deposit (Advance Deposit) of S$1000.00 (per Student) is payable to Canadian International School Pte Ltd at the time of submission of a Students application to be enrolled in the school. The Advance Deposit will be offset against the Family deposit (or any top-up required in respect of it); or if the Family Deposit has been paid in full (and does not require any top-up), against the Students Tuition Fees, should the Student attend the School. The Advance Deposit is only refundable, if after Student evaluation, the School determines that it is not able to accept the Student in question. The Advance Deposit is Non-Refundable if the Students application is withdrawn prior to commencement of school, the Student does not attend the School of his own choice, or for any other reason whatsoever. Tuition Fee All Tuition Fees must be paid by the due date stipulated on the invoice. Tuition Fees are invoiced before the start of each semester and are non-refundable once the semester has commenced. The School reserves the right to suspend or withdraw Students, and to withhold the release of their school reports,

transcripts, recommendation letters and other documents, should their Tuition Fees or any other payments due to the School, be in arrears. Building and Facility Fee Contributions to the Schools Building and Facility Fee are mandatory for all Students.

Monies collected under the Schools Building and Facility Fee are utilized towards maintenance and upgrading of the Schools existing 4 campuses and facilities and towards the Schools capital development projects including but not limited to, the building of the new CIS Lakeside Campus at Jurong West. Contributions towards the Schools Building and Facility Fee are not based on usage by, or benefit to, any particular Student or generation of Students; and does not imply any proprietary or vested interest or control by any Student or his family or any generation of Students over the Schools present or future campuses, or in respect of the Schools schedule or plan for maintenance or improvement of existing campuses and facilities or its new CIS Lakeside Campus at Jurong West. The School makes no representation or warranty with respect to any programme of upgrading or improvement of its existing campuses or in respect of its new CIS Lakeside Campus at Jurong West. The Building and Facility Fee is invoiced before the start of each semester and is non-refundable once the semester has commenced. It must be paid by the date stipulated in the invoice. PRO-RATING OF TUITION FEES AND BUILDING AND FACILITY FEE RETURNING STUDENTS Pro-rating of Tuition Fees and Building and Facility Fee will only be allowed in respect of the next academic semester, and provided a written notice stating this request had been submitted to the School three (3) months before the date of commencement of the next academic semester. If a shorter notice is served, pro-rating of Tuition Fees and Building and Facility Fee will not be allowed. In any case, the School reserves the sole and absolute right to deny any request for pro-rating of Tuition Fees and Building and Facility Fee where a vacancy at the grade level concerned will result. Please refer to the School Calendar and to the Schools e-bulletins for deadlines on submission of written notices in order to be entitled to pro-rating of Tuition Fees and Building and Facility Fee. PRO-RATING OF TUITION FEES AND BUILDING AND FACILITY FEE NEW STUDENTS New Students commencing classes midway through a semester shall be entitled to have their Tuition Fees and Building and Facility Fee pro-rated by month. New Students commencing classes mid-month will therefore be required to pay Tuition Fees and Building and Facility Fee for the entire month. Family Deposit A family deposit (Family Deposit) will be applied to all new Students upon confirmation of acceptance. The Family Deposit must be paid by the date stipulated in the invoice. Failure to do so will result in the Student being removed from the Schools register. The amount of the Family Deposit is calculated per family, based on the grade level of the most senior Student registered with the School, for that family. If there is only one child in the family registered with the School, the Family Deposit will be based on the grade level of that child. If there is more than one child registered with the School, a top-up will be required if the newly admitted Student is the most senior Student within that family, to be registered with the School. An additional deposit top-up will also be necessary when the most senior Student of each Family graduates to the next Tuition Fee level. If a Student is withdrawn or expelled after admission, that Student will forfeit 50% of his applicable Family Deposit and the School will be entitled to withhold the same where already paid to the School. Where more than one child from a family is withdrawn, this policy will be applied to each child of the family registered with the school, up to the [1] entire Family Deposit .

[1] Note to Parents/Legal Guardians: where there are 2 or more children withdrawn, this policy will mean that the entire Family Deposit will be retained by the School.

The deposit will be refunded in full in the case of a withdrawal if a written notice for withdrawal in the prescribed form is submitted to Admissions: A. No later than 1 March should the Student leave between 1 April and the last day of the second semester of any School Year (both dates inclusive) or is not returning in the new school year; No later than 18 December should the Student not be returning after December break or is not returning for the second semester; Not less than one (1) month before the last day of regular school attendance should the Student leave at any other time of the year other than as specified in point (A) or (B) above.

[2] if the 1st of March and 18th of December of any academic year is not a school day, the deadline will be the next school day.

Families who fail to comply with these deadlines, will forfeit 50% of their deposit for each child in respect of whom the deadlines have not been complied with. Please refer to the School Calendar and e-bulletins for reminder notices on deadlines on submissions of withdrawal notices in order to avoid forfeiting your deposit. The required notice of withdrawal and penalty for non-compliance, applies to each sibling in a family. Should a sibling within a family leave CIS without providing the required notice of withdrawal, but the other siblings(s) wish to continue at CIS, the deposit will be required to be topped-up to the required level, based on the most senior continuing siblings grade level. Should a sibling within a family leave CIS after providing the required notice of withdrawal, but the other siblings(s) wish to continue at CIS, a refund will only be made if the Family Deposit already made by the family exceeds the Family Deposit required based on that applicable for the most senior continuing sibling, and the amount of such refund will be limited to that difference. The Family Deposit will be applied against unpaid Tuition Fees, Building and Facility Fee, damage to property caused by the Student and other unpaid school accounts before any refund is processed. A Student Exit Form must be completed and submitted to the Accounts Department on the last day of attendance before the collection of the deposit. The form is available from the Admissions Department at each CIS campus or at the School Website. In the letter of withdrawal, please state the last day of attendance and the type of documents required (transcripts, letter of certification, letter of recommendation or other reports). Such documents will only be released upon request when all outstanding Fees have been paid. Additional Expenses For some courses or subjects there may be some supplementary expenses, in addition to the Tuition Fees. These expenses are for materials, equipment or supplies which are necessary due to the unique requirements of the course programmes. These expenses could include the purchase of calculators, math sets, thumb drives, locks, rental of musical instruments or other materials required for successful participation in the course. Please check with the Admissions Department for any specific requirements for your childs grade level and subject areas. The annual Excursion Week programme is an integral part of the curriculum for Grade Four to Twelve Students, and participation is mandatory. The costs of this programme will be invoiced to participating Students. Details can be obtained from Tanjong Katong Campus, the Middle School and High School main Offices. GST All Fees quoted except the Family Deposit are inclusive of the 7% Goods and Services Tax. In the event the rate of GST changes, the above Fees will have to be recalculated to include the said increase.

Pre-School Programmes Early Childhood Education and Kindergarten children must be completely toilet trained and be able to independently look after their own toileting. Each August, Early Childhood and Kindergarten children begin classes with a Staggered Entry procedure. Half of the children in a class attend school on the first day. The second half of the class attends on the second day, and all of the children in the class attend on the third day. This process enables children to have their important first experience at school in a quieter setting with fewer classmates. Inter-Campus Transfer All requests for inter-campus transfers for the subsequent school year must be submitted in writing to the Admissions Department at admissions@cis.edu.sg by 1 February of each year. If 1 February is not a school day, then by the first school day immediately following. All inter-campus requests are subject to the CIS admissions criteria and the availability of places. Parents will be notified of the outcome of their requests by 31 March of each school year. After school hours and non-school days No Student is permitted to be present on the School premises on non-school days, or to remain on School premises after dismissal time. The only exception is when, with the permission of the School Principal, the School grounds are the venue for a special activity, such as club meetings or athletic events, and at which one or more teacher(s) are present and supervising the activity. The School will not be liable for any injury to Students, any loss or damage to Students personal property, or any unforeseen damages, loss, injury or circumstance that may result from Students remaining in School after School hours or as a result of Students presence on non-school days outside of the permitted exception referred to above. This disclaimer is not intended to exclude or restrict the schools liability in the event of the death or personal injury of a Student arising from the negligence of the School.
