En torno al significado de E-Learning.

Una discusión en Wikipedia

El que revise en la Wikipedia en Español la definición de E-Learning

Existen desacuerdos sobre la neutralidad en el punto de vista de


la versión actual de este artículo o sección.
En la página de discusión puedes consultar el debate al respecto.

En la Wikipedia en inglés no existe esta discusión

en cuanto a que no se consideraron suficientes fuentes

término (http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-learning), ni tampoco los rusos
(http://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/E-learning).

Confieso que al leer la discusión correspondiente en la versión en español, me


asustó que estuviéramos discutiendo un término, que aunque no tenga una
traducción al español, es un anglicismo reconocido en todos los idiomas. Mas
aun que estuviéramos llevando una definición a un terreno de debate que
puede llevarnos a no precisar con claridad un conjunto de términos que
necesariamente están naciendo en esta Sociedad de la Información y que el
mismo desarrollo ira precisando. Yo hasta ahora había manejado el término e
intentado una definición en mis clases, pero esta claro que existen muchas
definiciones de e-learning.

La revisión de las definiciones en Internet en idioma inglés revela un amplio


abanico de enfoques:

Sin embargo en todas estas definiciones hay un punto en común que es la


entrega de un contenido, por medios digitales, con un propósito educativo.

En este sentido en la misma Wikipedia se sintetiza: (E-learning has been


defined as "pedagogy empowered by digital technology".(Nichols, M. (2008). E-

661/n877-1---e-learning-in-context.pdf]). Esta conceptualización intenta dejar
clara la interrelación pedagogía tecnología.

De acuerdo con ello puede definirse el E-Learning como un aprendizaje que


utiliza de manera integrada y pertinente, sea de forma sincrónica o asincrónica,
las Nuevas Tecnologías de la Información y la Comunicación para establecer
un ambiente propicio para la construcción de una experiencia de aprendizaje
mediante diferentes formas de comunicación entre el profesor y los alumnos

Sin dudas esta definición como todas puede parecer clara a los que ya tienen
alguna experiencia, bien como profesores o alumnos, en el E-Learning, pero
seguirá siendo confusa a los que no tengan una percepción clara del papel de
la tecnología en la educación.

Confieso que me sigue asustando que en la Wikipedia en español aparezca el


letrero de advertencia de desacuerdos en la neutralidad de los puntos de
vista sobre este término,
