MicroBioSys

A Unique Programme and Network

MISSION AND VISION Our mission involves increasing the bio-potential of bacterial treatments significantly, boosting yields and reducing the amount of required chemical fertilizers used in plant cultivation. We envisage producing a superelite bacterial product in local propagating units in the framework of a multifunctional service network.
PROBLEM AND SOLUTION

High product prices and lack of development greatly hinder the spread of bacterial products and their effective application in agriculture. Also resulting from high costs application methods are unfavourable as well (far too low doses, single treatment, low number of bacterial species). The price of bacterial product (SYMBION) made by applying the new propagation technology of MicroBioSys (MBS) is markedly lower compare to the products also available on the market. This lower price will remove the stopping force and will at the same time allow for an explosive expansion both on the local and international markets. MBS is an integrated bacterisation system; the first on the world encompassing the following determining factors in a complex way: New bacterial propagation technology Low production cost New type of bacterisation with 100 -fold doses and repetitive application Our own, superselected N-fixing bacterial strains Bacterial products adapted to local conditions NEW BACTERIAL PROPAGATION TECHNOLOGY The main restrictive factors of producing and applying bacterial products are producing them expensively at central locations, transporting large quantities of ballast water at high costs and using uniform products in various fields of application. The product, propagation technique and application around which MBS developments are centred involve producing inocula locally, in large quantities and at low costs. Within this system, while the basic inoculum is produced centrally, the specialised bacterial product is produced in fermentors (propagatory units) developed by MBS itself at the places of application. With the help of this multi-stage system (production in 3 steps) the quantity of bacterial products produced in local propagatory units could be several times as much as the annual output of a large, conventional bacterium-fertiliser producing factory. The number of local propagators can be increased on demand. MBS will make its propagatory unit and technology available to every large-scale customer joining the system as a partner. The propagating units in the network are also the basic units of the regional network and communication with the system.

LOW PRICE As compared with current practice the favourable price offered by MBS allows for a more effective bacterisation process with more reliable results. Within the framework of the MBS system, the unit cost of the 100-fold quantity of bacteria per unit area is low, which makes a significant increase in the biological potential of plant cultivation possible. SYMBION - SUPERELITE BACTERIAL PRODUCTS In creating our product - named SYMBION - we utilise selected nitrogen-fixing bacteria. With the regular mass application of our bio-products, chemical nitrogen fertilisers will become replaceable in 7075, or even 100 %. By decreasing the application of chemical fertilisers not only production costs can be reduced, but also the biological condition of the soil will improve markedly (decreasing nitrate contamination, increasing humus content). On the other hand, using SYMBION with fertilizers, the beneficial effects of bacteria will increase the yields in conventional agricultural practice. MBS products, besides nitrogen-fixing microorganisms, may also contain phosphorus-resolving, growth-stimulating bacteria and/or ones providing protection against pathogens and pests. The advantage of the new technology is that it is possible to develop and produce the most effective bacterial product to suit local conditions.

NETWORK DEVELOPMENT MBS products are made in a network of propagation units. This network offers help to growers in selecting the right type of plants, in planning and organising production and in selling the end-product. Network members are entitled to use all available services of professional consultation, informationprovision and distribution networks. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS Patents protect our intellectual interest: for the product, propagation technology elements and for MicroBioSys hyper network, as well as for the technology of processing bacterial products so as to achieve effective and close plant-bacterial relationships in a controlled way. We started protection for propagation units (including bacterial-fermenting units within mobile container) applied, which is suitable for the mass propagation of microorganisms. In consequence of recent developments we are to submit further applications for patents in the near future.

WHAT'S GOOD IN MBS? 1. MBS is the only system to offer the repetitive and mass application of useful microorganisms, which is necessary to achieve a sustained increase in the biological potential, 2. it provides the consumer with an almost 100-fold biological value for a comparable price, 3. a product best meeting the local application requirements and soil-conditions can be created within the framework of MBS, 4. the system and its operation is easy to control and realise at any place, 5. alongside product development the system's information, marketing etc. networks are also developing, which will lead to an added value in supplementary services, 6. this knowledge-intensive system is easy to expand and export.
