Swype is a revolutionary text input solution that allows speeds exceeding 45 wpm without a Keyboard. Ideal for touch screens or adapted pointing devices. Swype is taking the industry by storm, and represents the first quantum leap in text input for people with disabilities since word prediction was introduced over 20 years ago. You have to see it to believe it. And when you do, you will be stunned. Swype is a patented software text input system for stylus- or finger-based touch-screen devices that allows the user to easily input text at speeds exceeding 40 to 50 words per minute. Swype uses an on-screen virtual QWERTY keyboard (the standard keyboard layout), but instead of pointing and tapping on each letter, the user traces an approximate connect the dots path through the letters of a word. The stylus (or finger) is placed down on or near the first letter and is kept in contact with the screen while sliding from letter to letter, lifting from the screen when the last letter is reached. In this way, each word is input by entering a simple path that passes through or near its letters. Spaces are generated automatically, and individual characters or entire words can be shifted to upper case with simple gestures performed in entering the path for a word. 4.FEATURES OF A SWYPE 4.1 Automatic Spacing

4.2 Word Choice List When there are multiple suggestions for the word you want to enter, Swype displays a Word Choice List. To accept the default word in the Word Choice List, just keep Swyping. Otherwise, scroll through the list by dragging your finger, and tap the word you want. You can also customize the way the Word Choice List behaves while tapping - just go to Options and select Word suggestion to see more options.

Changing a Word There are many ways to edit a word. If Swype does not output the word you wanted, tap on the word and select an alternate from the Word Choice List. To quickly replace a word, simply double-tap on the word and Swype (or tap) a replacement word.

Double Letters Swype usually knows if you want a double letter in a word without your doing anything special, but you can help Swype recognize you want a double letter by scribbling slightly or making a loop on the letter. For example, to get the "ll" in "hello", scribble (or make a loop) on the "l" key.
