Simon Hgli from the Beginning

- Simon Hgli, a.k.a. Zimoun, was born in Switzerland in 1977 - He was a self-taught artist with no formal training or education in the art field. - Zimoun explains in an interview, Since a little kid I have been interested in exploring sound, playing instruments and creating compositions in addition to visual arts - During Zimouns early years, he discovered John Cage, a composer and artist, produced work that interested Zimoun and he began to study Cages unconventional way of creating sound and music.

Other Works

Current and Upcoming Exhibitions

Zimoun has exhibitions all over the world. Although he works in Switzerland, he travels to many different countries to set up his work. He does group exhibitions as well as solo exhibitions. His most recent ongoing exhibition is located in France and has been up since September and will remain there until early March. The installation is part of a group exhibition In Italy he has a solo exhibition that began in February and will remain up until the beginning of March. Zimoun also has exhibitions in Richmond, Virginia and in Seoul, South Korea. Both are group exhibitions that will be up for several more months. New York is also showing one of his works in a group exhibition. In 2013 he will have various group and solo exhibitions in over 11 countries.
