MyKnowledgeMap Gain Contract Award for ReallyManaging Assessment from Lee Kong C hian School of Medicine, Singapore MyKnowledgeMap

is delighted to have been awarded a contract by Lee Kong Chian Sc hool of Medicine (LKCMedicine), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore to s upply ReallyManaging Assessment as this represents a significant step forward fo r this innovative ePortfolio technology. York, UK, February 27, 2013 -- LKCMedicine, a joint medical school by Imperial C ollege London and Nanyang Technological University, Singapore is being set up to meet the expected rise in the healthcare demands of a growing and ageing Singap ore population. It will augment Singapore s healthcare manpower by producing top-qua lity doctors and medical leaders who are attuned to the needs of patients and of the Singapore community and will also introduce innovations to medical educatio n, providing more opportunities for Singaporeans to pursue a high-quality medica l degree locally. Throughout their medical training, LKCMedicine students will develop strong foun dations in the scientific basis of medicine. Much of this will be learned throug h Team-Based Learning (TBL) sessions, and faculty in both London and Singapore a re working hard to develop a variety of educational materials for TBL. Leveragin g on the extensive use of iPads at the School, ReallyManaging Assessment, brande d for LKCMedicine as iFolio , will be used as an ePortfolio to support and track studen t learning activities, and deliver and report on assessment in clinical settings ; Here, students will be taught by world-class experts in a modern environment that f ocuses on collaborative learning, a broad use of simulation, and learning suppor ted by materials and applications on their iPads," says Prof Martyn R Partridge, Senior Vice Dean of LKCMedicine. The iPad, which will be an important teaching and learning tool, will also draw on new technologies to help students learn their curriculum wherever they are." ReallyManaging Assessment, already in use in key major medical education establi shments in the UK, represents an award winning, innovative approach to the workf low of assessment, including full use of native apps on Apple and, soon, Android for online and offline use, which is increasingly critical in any internet-unfr iendly work based environment. It is used for observational and self-assessment, together with clinical knowledge tests; and features a tutor/student feedback w orkflow for collaborative mentoring, with all achievements, feedback and notes b eing recorded into an ePortfolio progress file.
