Each year, more than 2,000 volunteers donate strong backs and good cheer to over 70 park-improvement projects all over the city. Hiking With Your Dog


This presentation is designed for those who like to get out and hike around the beautiful Austin hill country and would like their canine companion to accompany them, without the constant struggles of distractions and pulling. We will cover walking on a loose leash, ignoring distractions and the do's & don'ts while on the Austin trails. We will also go over necessary and optional equipment for safe & happy hiking. Wilderness First Aid with WMI & REI


REI is partnering with the Wilderness Medicine Institute of NOLS to offer a comprehensive 16 hour, two day course that will teach you the wilderness medicine skills you need to recreate with confidence in the backcountry. You will have both in store classroom time and hands on practice scenarios. This course can be used to recertify a Wilderness First Responder, Wilderness Advanced First Aid or the Wilderness portion of a wilderness EMT. No prerequisites required. Northern Virginia Rock Climbing


If you're looking for a weekend away among the beauty of nature but still interested in the challenge of learning a new skill, join us as we explore the crags of Great Falls and Elizabeth Furnace!
