About the Symposium

The Symposium symbolises a reawakening of interest in the field of construction project management and marks the beginning of a concerted effort to make project management a major part of the value chain in the delivery of construction projects in Malaysia, in line with developments in other developed parts of the world such as the United States, United Kingdom, EU, Japan, and Australia. The Symposium presents local speakers who will dwell on some high-impact projects that form part of the Governments Economic Transformation Programme and will be followed by foreign speakers consisting of both practitioners and academics who will share their experience in the fields of Project Management or update participants on the latest development in this profession. The Symposium will also feature two prestigious awards presented to personalities who have unwittingly made outstanding contribution to the field of Project Management in Malaysia and made our nation what it is today. Benchmarking Project Management Services Against Global Standard to Efficiently Deliver High-Impact Projects Driving Malaysias ETP The benefits of Malaysias Economic Transformation Programme (ETP), the brainchild of Prime Minister Dato Seri Najib Tun Abdul Razak, must exceed their costs many times more. The benefit at the construction stage must continue to the operation phase. However, professionals trained in traditional fields of construction face growing challenges within their own field of specialization. Many of these new needs are being looked after by project managers who acquire the relevant skills to handle numerous challenges during the life cycle of the project. More importantly, the demand for new skills keeps growing and project managers must continue to update their skills in order to remain relevant to the needs of industry.
