1. Purpose:
The procedure for the approval and control of earthworks in the site are prepared.

2. Scope:
Covers all the earthworks in any part of Water Supply and Sanitation Adriatic Coast Phase III Herceg Novi WWTP.

3. Responsibilities:
Site Manager is responsible for supervising the activities specified in this procedure.

Site Engineer is responsible to find appropriate staff who will apply the specified activities in this procedure. Quality Control Manager is responsible for proofing that the procedure for the monitoring and implementation.

Definitions:
Ground Level : Ground level before starting earth works, but after clean and stripping earth. Foundation Level : Lean concrete base on the building will be accepted as foundation level. Backfill : It means that earth is excavated for road, building foundation etc. according to related technical specifications of contract and then is filled with the same intensity as compressed.

6. Applications:
Before starting excavation work HN-QA-01-FR-01 numbered form will be submit to
Consultant for approval and sign.

Excavation will be done at boundaries and depth shown in the drawings and
specified in the contract and according to order of Consultant . Test pit will be open to locate underground lines, if necessary.

Existing undergound structures will be relocated before excavation. Survey and excavation sketch will be done during all works. Cleaning and stripping excavations will be done.
Excavation pits+trenches have to be deeper than 125 cm shored

Unsuitable soil in pipe trenches according to employer representatives will be taken

out and filled with approved suitable soil according to specification approved.

Excavated pipe trenches will be filled with approved granule materials according to
contract and compacted according to contract.

All trenches and other excavations will be made with supports if needed. If backfill will be done for the foundations of building under the underground water
level, appropiate material will be used for drainage and excavation will be plumped out till pit or trench is dry .

Records: All records will be taken in according to the quality plan. All forms will be filled by Quality Control Manager as specified in control and test plan. All records shall be kept open for inspection on request.
