The Geography of Organization

Public Administration is to deal with people who are influenced by their geographical conditions, environments and natural resources (Sharma, 2006). To deal with the geography of an organization is always a pressing matter when it comes to public administration. Handling the geography of an organization requires a lot of work and therefore it does not only demand time, skill, resources and effort but also for me will cost a lot of money so it necessary that one gives importance to the geography of the organization because this is a major contributing factor on how the organization will operate. The geography helps mold the very values, policies and programs of the organization and this is so because it needs to adapt to the necessities of the people within the jurisdiction of said organization in a certain place. From listening to the report what interested and left a mark on me is the whole concept of decentralization. I think this is so because decentralization according to the report it is transferring the power of the government to subordinate authorities and through it there is less burden on the central governments as in the case of centralization. This is where the local government units come into play and we can all see how much of an importance and help decentralization is in aiding the central government to extend their powers in almost every person in the state and aims to

give citizens or their elected representatives more power in public decision-making. Moreover, decentralization helps national government ministries reach larger numbers of local areas with services. For me it is really necessary that especially our government find a way in order to not just extend their powers but also help every citizen live their lives fully in the sense that they enjoy protection from the state but the concept decentralization teaches each and everyone to always abide by the laws because there are local government units that safeguards the rights of each and every person.

Public Administration and Policy

Public administration touches nearly every aspect of our lives-from the safety of the food we eat to what happens to the waste we produce when that food comes out our other end. It reaches into every branch of government as well executive, legislative, and judicial (Shafritz & Hyde, 2008). Public Administration comes hand in hand with power this is so because without power how can one be able to exercise his duties as a leader and be followed by his constituents? For me to be great leader you are required to have power in the sense that it is not abusive but the power to let your constituents listen to you and trust the objectives that you have laid down for their betterment. What I learned from the report came from Norton Long wherein he stressed the importance of power because according to him for there to be efficient administration there must be a concentration of adequate powers in the administrative organ. Power and Administration; administrative institutions are engaged in a continual battle for political survival. The lifeblood of administration is power; because of multiple interest groups it is hard to decipher loyalty. This is important because in order for the constituents to listen to you, you must have the power to make their lives better in the sense that they are safe not just physically but in every aspect of their lives and for me I think that is why Norton Long thought that there will be efficient administration. The lifeblood of administration is power because this basically meant that power is a prerequisite for administration to

exist. Without power there would be no administration and we will have no leaders no one to safeguard the interests and safety of each and every citizen of the state. In order for each and every organization to be able to have efficient administration they should each have adequate powers in order to bring about the loyalty of their constituents.
