Proclaiming Abundant Love
A Parish Mission Rooted in the Spirituality of the Precious Blood
During our upcoming parish
mission we will celebrate God’s abundant love
poured out for us in Precious Blood of Jesus
Christ. We will reflect what it means for us
to be people of the covenant, people of the
cross, people reconciled in the blood of
Christ, and people of the cup. Rev. Dennis
Chriszt, Sr. Donna Liette, and Gerry Downs
will share the spirituality of the Precious
Blood with us as we listen to the Word of
God, celebrate rituals, and reflect upon God’s
abundant love in our own lives.
People of the Covenant
Sunday, March 15, 6:45-8:15 p.m.
The focus of the first celebration during our
parish mission is that we are people of the
covenant. Through our baptism, we, like
Jesus, were called God’s beloved sons and
daughters – those with whom God is well
pleased. We may, at times, be tempted not to
believe that, but God has called us his
children and God is well pleased with us. Our
sins have been washed away in the blood of
the lamb. We are God’s chosen people –
people with whom God has made a covenant –
people who are indeed God’s beloved.
People of the Cross

Monday, March 16, 6:45-8:15 p.m.
The focus of the second celebration during our
parish mission is that we are people of the
cross. It is by the cross that we are saved.
On Good Friday, we often feel guilty for the
fact that our sins led Christ to the cross. Yet
no where in scripture are we told to feel guilty
about the cross. We are told to rejoice, to
give thanks for the salvation we have received.
Christ took up the cross for us, for our
redemption. The cross is the sign of hope for
all sinners. We are people of the cross, people
redeemed by the blood of the cross.
People Reconciled in the Blood of
Christ
Tuesday, March 17, 6:45-8:15 p.m.
The focus of the third celebration during our
parish mission is that we are people reconciled
to God through the blood of Christ. While the
celebration takes the form of a penance
service, the focus is more on God’s mercy than
on our sins. If our gathering is about our sins,
then we have nothing to celebrate, but if it is
about God’s undying and abundant mercy, then
we have every reason to rejoice.
People of the Cup
Wednesday, March 18, 6:45-8:45 p.m.
The focus of the fourth
and final celebration is
the cup of Christ’s blood
which we share. It is a cup of thanksgiving,
as well as a cup of suffering. It is a cup of
remembrance, as well as a cup of salvation.
We share the cup, and Christ’s blood flows
through our veins and arteries. Like Christ,
we are called to go forth to live as citizens
of God’s reign, loving God and neighbor. This
last celebration takes place in the context of
Mass with a social following in St. Michael
Hall.
Celebrations for Children
A special liturgy of the word and activities
geared specifically toward children
(pre-school through 6th grade) to help them
understand & celebrate God’s abundant love
in their lives, is offered each night. Children
will gather with their families in the church,
and will be dismissed after opening prayer.
Child Care is also available for smaller
children at St. Michael’s Hall (Not St Mike’s
Place) beginning at 6:30pm each evening.
RSVP child care needs @ 295-2891 as to be
assured ample supervision is provided.
Prayer for the Mission
Almighty and ever loving God,
 you created humanity
to share your love.
Renew us as we celebrate our
parish mission.
As your abundant love is
proclaimed,
may we learn to live that love
more fully.
May our pastoral region be
transformed by the proclamation
of our salvation
in Christ and through his Blood.
We ask this in his name
who is Lord for ever and ever.

Home Visits
Parishioners who are unable to attend the
mission due to age or infirmity are invited
to share in the mission. If you would like
one of the mission preachers to come by
for a short visit on Monday, March 16
between the hours of 9 am and 2pm,
please call the POC @ 937-295-2891.

Rev. Chriszt , from Chicago, has
been a Precious Blood priest since
1978. He currently is the
executive director of Precious
Blood Parish Ministries and has
authored two books.
Sr. Donna Liette
Sr. Liette, Precious Blood of
Dayton, is spiritual coordinator of
the Glen at St. Joseph, a home for
low-income, single mothers and
children. She previously worked at
a residential facility in Dayton for
women released from prison and
has ministered in various
capacities.
Ms. Gerry Downs
Ms. Downs is the liturgical
coordinator for St. Leo parish in
Sonoma, California and has
