PRO6 - LTC Jason Jones

As I stated in last months edition, we are currently restructuring our Family Readiness Group (FRG) Program. We have had an outpouring of volunteers who have stepped forward to assist us in this endeavor. I want to personally thank our old and new volunteers for stepping forward to assist us in making this Battalion that much stronger. Your personal sacrifices are truly appreciated and I look forward to working with each of you. I cannot say enough how proud I am of the Paratroopers of the Professional Battalion. These fine young men and women are truly Americas greatest asset. Rest assured that when called upon they will be prepared to step to the forefront in order to protect America from those who wish to threaten our way of life. GO PRO!
PRO6: LTC Jason Jones

Greetings to the Troopers, families and friends of the Professionals. I hope everyone enjoyed their Valentines Day and had an opportunity to spend time with their loved ones! The Professionals have had another great month of training and have finally had an opportunity to fire our howitzers for the first time in almost two years. In addition, members of the Hurricanes, Assassins, Barbarians, and Grizzlies participated in a mock airfield seizure training exercise. During this training event members of the Battalion jumped, assembled, and employed a howitzer during hours of limited visibility. Like firing our howitzers, this is the first time in two years we have had an opportunity to exercise this capability. If you have not yet done so, like our Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/pages/2321st-ABN-FA/142210282533?ref=hl#) where you can view photos of our training; it is truly an awe inspiring site to see these Troopers in action.

PRO9 - CSM John Condliffe

Pro Families and Troopers, I hope this finds you in great spirits as we slowly move towards the onset of spring. Your Soldiers are getting very resilient. We are really pushing the training from all levels to ensure our Troopers have the very best care if they need it. Some Troopers may not want to step forward and we are trying to encourage our team to work together and keep everyone healthy, both physically and mentally. The work these fine men and women do daily can be quite stressful and demanding, so keeping them focused is a priority. We are involved with all kinds of great training, from shooting their individual weapon to jumping out of a plane to find a howitzer on the drop zone. Now dont get me wrong here, they still get their down time to relax like the 4 day weekend we just enjoyed and of course an early release for Valentines Day. It was basically a PRO9: CSM John mandatory event, Troopers had to Condliffe bring home roses and chocolates to loved onesI think it was a policy letter or something I read Just Kidding! ATW!!!

FRG Meeting : 12 MAR 2013 1800 @ BN Classroom FTX : 4-8 MARCH 2013
Greetings Friends and Families! February has been a busy month for the Hurricane Battery. As we surpass the mid-point of the 2d quarter, Troopers continued to hone their individual weapons skills at day and night qualification ranges in accordance with our 2d quarter training guidance. In addition to coordinating and running the aforementioned ranges for the entire battalion, HHB Troopers also facilitated receipt of new radar and communications equipment that will be used to support the battalion as it builds its digital communications capability in preparation for our Intensive Training Cycle I. But, of course, we are not all work and no play. Several of our single Soldiers attended a ski training retreat at Beech Mountain and we also held two free barbecue lunches for the Troopers. The FRG also conducted a Valentines Day fundraiser, continuing its outstanding support for the battery. So, if you happened to receive a single rose on Valentines Day, chances are, you have the FRG to thank.

FRG Meeting : 21 Mar 2013 at Airborne Bowling Lanes

Dear Family and Friends of The Assassins As we take some time to look back on the month of February, it is incredibly motivating to see all that our Paratroopers were able to accomplish. The month started off with a farewell to an outstanding leader in 1SG George Martinez. His contributions to the unit have been immeasurable and the entire Assassin Family wishes him luck as he transitions to serve as the HHB 1SG. Thanks 1SG and job well done! With the departure of 1SG Martinez, the Battery welcomed another outstanding leader in 1SG David Dean. He and his wife Mellissa, and their son, Ethan, have hit the ground running and have already made a great impact on the Paratroopers of Alpha. We look forward to your leadership! Throughout the rest of the month, the Battery conducted an M4 zero and qualification range during day and night, Howitzer and FDC Section Certification, a night Heavy Drop DZ Mission and a week-long Field Training Exercise that saw us fire the first live rounds for the Battery in nearly 2 years. These are the training events we have spent the last several months building towards and the Paratroopers have performed above the standard! March will see the Assassins exiting some aircraft, spend some time in the field, and slinging some rounds downrange as we continue to build our core competencies. We wish nothing but the best for our Troopers, Families and friends and, as always, thanks for all you do!

It seems as though February has flown by. During this month, we have had Four Section Chiefs attending and graduating from the Advanced Leaders Course, had Troopers out to the range to conduct rifle marksmanship, and have had our troopers focusing on conducting, ever important, section certification. During this month we also conducted a well attended FRG meeting, at the Airborne Lanes Bowling Alley here at Fort Bragg.

We continue to ready ourselves for upcoming field training exercises where we will finally get to put some steel down range from our M119 Howitzers as well as get the opportunity to showcase the Batterys performance, by providing a Salute Battery for the FORSCOM Change of Command in March. While our focus will remain on training, we look forward to having a Trooper Planned Family Fun Day on the 22nd of March. This Trooper Planned Family Fun Day was an initiative to allow our young troopers to plan and organize an event that would provide a recreational environment for the Battery as well as an opportunity to build their leadership skills.

Greetings from Team Grizzly!

Grizzly Family, we had our first FRG meeting and I want to thank all those in attendance for your support. I also want to take this time to reach out to all those who were unable to attend. We are looking for your support and input as we re-build our FRG.
SPC Monahan conducts services to ensure all vehicles are mission ready

This month went by fast. We conducted and supported a lot of training this month. We sent our Paratroopers to the range to qualify both during the day and night. We helped push some of the last pieces of equipment through the post-deployment radio communications maintenance as well as repaired all of our night vision devices. The firing Batteries had two weeks of boom-packed training that helped us review our operations and note any weak areas we need to improve upon. We could not have done this without you. Thank you for all your support. Our Paratroopers heavily rely on everyone in their circle of Family and friends to accomplish all missions at work. Home is were we go to relax, reset, and have fun. I want to meet each one of you and thank you personally, so please join us at our next FRG Meeting! I look forward to seeing you there.

Love is in the air! Dont believe me, just check out the front of your local Wal-Mart or jewelry store. Valentines Day is the day we think about l-o-v-e. Americans think they know a lot about love, but do we? Scripture has some very clear definitions for what love really is (and is not). Maybe youve heard these words recited at a wedding or have seen them on a wall plaque. Does your definition of love look like the one below? Do you live by this standard? Try it itll revolutionize all your relationships! 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 (NLT) Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.
