A How much do you spend for lunch in a week? Or on your daily car gas? 500php? 1000php?

Are you able to drink a coffee in Starbucks or purchase some cool gadgets? Perhaps you could watch great movies in 3D whenever you want to? If you can, you are really a blessed one! If you will be given the chance to spare few bucks of your fortune would you believe that it only takes 300php to send a child to school? Despite the annual increase in the Philippine budget for basic education and the governments offer of zero tuition, one (1) out of six (6) children still cannot attend school. Among other hindrances, poverty poses as the number one reason. According to the Department of Education (DepEd), the countrys volatile economic situation prevents children from starting and continuing their education. Among the marginalized sectors of the country, Indigenous People (IP) are considered the most underprivileged of them all. Mangyan is a generic term for the indigenous peoples of the island of Mindoro. They are usually clustered into the northern Mangyan (Tadyawan, Alangan and Iraya) and the southern Mangyan (Buhid, Taobuid and Hanunuo). The community of Mangyan near Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro is a one-to-two hour trek from the downtown an especially hard walk during rainy seasons. This has been a struggle for the students every day. As a result, only few students finish their studies. Aside from the location, the families financial capabilities hinder them from sending the children to school. The school itself cannot provide enough school supplies and other teaching materials due to lack of resources. These obstacles can be lessened through a small generosity. Your 300php can go a long way in providing these children with school supplies to aid them in their learning. For just 300php, 1 Mangyan kid can happily go to school because of his/her new bag with almost complete school stuffs like notebooks, pencils, notepads etc. Lets say instead of buying two FrapMocha, we will share it to help educating one child. Every day we are blessed. Its time we give back by being a blessing to others. Lets help brighten up a childs future by distributing school supplies before their classes start in June. Hopefully, we may be able to raise funds for 65-80 bags of 65-80 children to be distributed this Holy Thursday, 28 March 2013. Thank you very much for your willingness to sponsor a kid whether in cash or in kind. Let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart. - Gal. 6:9
