MATERIALS Hazel Knits Artisan Lively DK (90% Superwash Merino, 10% Nylon; 275yds); Bobbins Nest Studio Exclusive colorway, 1 skein. US #5 (3.5mm) 16 circular, US #6 (4.0mm) 16 circular and one set of US #6 (4.0mm) DPNs or size needed to obtain gauge. Tapestry needle GAUGE 22 sts and 24 rnds = 4 in charted stitch pattern, after blocking.

DIRECTIONS With smaller needles CO 96 sts. Join to work in the round, being careful not to twist. Knit 10 rnds. Inc to 144 sts by *[k2, m1]; rep from * to end. Change to larger circ needles. Work charted rnds 1-12, 3 times; then work rnds 1-11. Decreases Change to DPNs when necessary. Setup row: K to last 2 sts in rnd, place these 2 sts on next needle to be worked as the first 2 sts of next rnd. Rnd 1: K6, *k2tog, k6; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2tog. Rnd 2 and all even rnds: K to end. Rnd 3: K5, *k2tog, k5; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2tog. Rnd 5: K4, *k2tog, k4; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2tog. Rnd 7: K3, *k2tog, k3; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2tog. Rnd 9: K2, *k2tog, k2; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2tog. Rnd 11: K1, *k2tog, k1; rep from * to last 2 sts, k2tog. Rnd 13: K2tog to end of rnd. (18 sts) Rnd 15: K2tog to end of rnd. (9 sts) Cut a 6 tail and with a tapestry needle draw through remaining sts. Pull snug and weave in ends. Block flat so that you get that signature bret crease, if you so desire. You can even use a dinner plate or any flat round object, of the correct size, to help create a crease while blocking.
