hear about our client feedback and the success of the overall programme. As an experienced Executive Coaching company we have particular expertise in developing and embedding coaching cultures using a holistic methodology with maximum impact.
Typically I work with corporate leaders but you will find the exercises we discuss appropriate for many walks of life. I also tend to work visually, as well as cerebrally, with clients so you will find the exercises involve cards with a wealth of suggested coaching questions. Strengths: Positive Psychologys 24 Character Strengths go beyond most strengths psychometrics, offering clients a route path for growth and development in their life. Using the strengths cards and coaching questions, we will explore together four fundamentals for working with character strengths: How do you help people recognise their strengths (and fall in love with them)? What worth does a client get from exploring their strengths (and considering overuse and underuse); In what other areas can their character strengths be applied and amplified? Beyond your signature strengths, what character strengths need developing to achieve what you want to achieve next in life?
Motivation and Drive: Utilising our Motivation Scale, in the last section of this workshop we will explore the nature of motivation and drive. This section of the workshop brings together much of the new body of scientific work around goals and motivation and shows you how to work in a practical, interesting work with a client, utilising the scale and motivation cards. Within this exercise, well be discussing the main topics of flow, autonomy, self-efficacy, rewards and teamwork.

This session will explore the coaching culture journey undertaken by Burnley Borough Council. You will be introduced to the background research, planning, implementation and organisational impact measures identified by Burnley Borough Council which have since led to the achievement of IiP Gold and Champion Status, a National Training Award for the Coaching Ambassador Programme and most recently to the 2012 EMCC Coaching Organisation Award. Burnley prides itself on providing quality coaching through quality coaches and continually develops its organic approach to cultural change. You will see how coaching adds value to the organisational development strategy and how a coaching culture can be developed in a systemic way and add measurable value to many people practices.
In his presentation, Bill will outline the development of an evidence-based approach to coaching at Saracens, one of the leading rugby union clubs in England. Analytics play a key role in supporting decisions by the coaching staff. Analytics help the coach-manager to facilitate improved individual performance as well as underpinning strategic review and planning. Key performance indicators (KPIs) have been identified for the team and individual players. A trafficlights system is used to grade performance levels. There is a direct link between performance management and weekly training priorities. Bill will argue that a critical success factor in using analytics to improve performance is the appropriateness of the organisational culture. He will discuss how Saracens combine an evidence-based approach with a people-centred approach. He will conclude that effective organisations exhibit both focus and care.
