RE-SCHEDULING THE YEAR 2009 NURSES LICENSURE EXAMINATIONS

FROM JUNE 7 & 8, 2009 TO JUNE 6-7, 2009 AND FROM NOVEMBER 28 &
29, 2009 TO NOVEMBER 29-30, 2009

WHEREAS, in the exercise of its powers under Section 7 (d) of R.A. No.
8981, the Commission issued Resolution No. 2008-478, series of 2008 which
fixed the dates and designated the places for holding the various licensure
examinations of the Professional Regulatory Boards for Calendar Year 2009.
The said Resolution also set the dates of the Bi-Annual Nurses Licensure
Examinations on June 7 & 8, 2009 (Sunday-Monday) and November 28 & 29,
2009 (Saturday-Sunday);

WHEREAS, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) has set the

opening of classes for Academic Year 2009-2010 on Monday, June 8, 2009
while the Department of Education and Culture (DepEd) plans to open their
School Year on June 1 or 8, 2009, likewise a Monday;

WHEREAS, the second day of the June, 2009 Nurses Licensure

Examination will fall on Monday, June 8, 2009 which happens to be the opening
of classes for School Year 2009-2010;

WHEREAS, since the Commission makes use of public and private

schools as examination venues, there will be no available schools that can be
used on the second day of the June, 2009 Licensure Examination;

WHEREAS, the Deans of Adventist University of the Philippines and of

Manila Adventist Medical Center and Colleges were notified of this development
and after the Chairman of the Commission had talked to both of them, they
were amenable to the re-scheduling of the June, 2009 Licensure Examination
but requested that the November, 2009 Licensure Examination be moved to
November 29-30, 2009 considering that November 30 (Bonifacio day) was
already declared a public holiday;

WHEREAS, there is a need to move the schedules of the Year 2009 Bi-
Annual Nurses Licensure Examinations in order to have a smooth and orderly
administration and conduct of the examinations.

NOW, THEREFORE, the Board of Nursing hereby resolved, as it now

resolves, to re-schedule the Year 2009 Bi-Annual Nurses Licensure
Examinations from June 7 & 8, 2009 to JUNE 6-7, 2009 (SATURDAY-
SUNDAY) and from November 28 & 29, 2009 to NOVEMBER 29-30, 2009
(SUNDAY-MONDAY).

Let a copy of this Resolution be furnished the Board of Nursing, Director

for Licensure, Application Division, Examination Division, Rating Division,
Secretariat, ICT Division, Legal Division, Supply & Property Division, Budget
Division, Accounting Division, ESTF, PIMRU, all Regional Offices and all
schools, colleges and universities offering the Nursing course for their
information and guidance.
