(i) Entamoeba histolytica is a parasite. It lives in the intestine of man. So excess water does not enter its body so it has no contractile vacuole. (ii) Cellular respiration takes place in mitochondria and the energy produced is stored in the ATP molecules. (iii) Coconut fruit has fibrous mesocarp which provides buoyancy and can be easily dispersed through water. (iv) Nose contains hair and mucus which traps dust particles and bacteria, so pure air enters into the lungs. But mouth does not have hair and mucus so air breathed through mouth is not pure. (v) Fungi do not have chlorophyll so these cannot make their own food. It has to depend on green plants for its food and hence fungi are heterotrophic. (a) (i) A neuron consists of a cell body called cyton, which contains cytoplasm and nucleus. Some cytoplasmic projections called dendrons arise from the cyton. The dendrones are branched into dendrites. A long projection called axon arises from the cyton which is covered by medullary sheath.
