Templul treptelor i al apei

Din orice unghi am privi-o, arhitectura indian are acea frumusee extravagant dat de atenia acordat detaliilor. Detalii care se materializeaz n majoritatea construciilor importante. Reprezentativ este desigur Taj Mahalul, dar aceeai pasiune pentru detalii se ntlnete i la cldiri cu scopuri utilitare. Unele din cele mai spectaculoase exemple sunt puurile de ap n trepte pe care le gsim n vestul Indiei. Acestea sunt de fapt un labirint din sute i chiar mii de trepte spate n blocuri de piatr ce au fost ulterior aduse i aezate lng izvor pentru un acces uor. n spatele acestora se gsesc o serie de galerii i camere ce au devenit de-a lungul timpului locul preferat de relaxare al indienilor n timpul verilor. Tocmai datorit popularitii, fntnile n trepte (cunoscute i sub numele de bawdi sau baoli) au devenit n acelai timp i locuri de ntlnire. Femeile chiar aduceau aici ofrande diverselor zeiti hinduse pentru ca apa din fntni s nu sece. Acesta a constituit i motivul din spatele basoreliefurilor de pe scri care prezint figurile zeilor hindu sau diverse scene din viata cotidian. Numai c nimic nu este cotidian cnd vorbim de aceste fntni n trepte. Cea mai bine pstrat pn azi este Chand Baori, un imens pavilion care a devenit un templu al apei. (buildersmagazine.ro)

From any angle we look at it, Indian architecture has the extravagant beauty given by the attention to details. Details which materialize in the most important buildings. Representative is of course Taj Mahal, but the same passion for details occurs to buildings with practical

purposes. Some of the most spectacular examples are the water wells in steps which can be found in Western India. Often carved into the rock, these water springs used to offer to residents a safe and permanent source of clean water. But what at first were some simple trenches dug for easy access have become real pavilions open to the public, cool oases which offer shelter against the scorching summers.

The decoration of these wells began mainly in Hindi period and was continued during the Muslim occupations . Then there were refined the methods of construction. When a new spring was found, first there was dug a vertical gallery through which the water was brought to the surface and then the stands were built. They are basically a maze of hundreds and even thousands of steps carved into the stone blocks which later were brought and placed near the spring for easy access. Behind them there is a series of galleries and rooms that have become the favorite place of rest of the Indians during the summers. Just because of popularity, stepped wells (also known as the bawdi or baoli) became at the same time meeting places too. Women even brought offerings to the various Hindu deities so that the water in the fountains do not dry. This was the reason behind bas-reliefs on the stairs showing figures of hindu gods and various scenes of daily life. But nothing is ordinary when we speak about these wells in steps. The most well preserved until today is Chand Baori, a huge pavilion that has become a temple of the water.

2. "The Taste" - emisiunea culinara din 2013

O nou emisiune culinar s-a difuzat zilele trecute pe postul de televiziune ABC, din Statele Unite, intitulat "The Taste", fiind jurizat de marii chefi ai Americii, Brian Malarkey, Ludo (Ludovic) Lefebvre, Anthony Bourdain i Nigella Lawson. Brian Malarkey a crescut inspirat de pasiunea bunicii sale pentru gtit, precum i de produsele proaspete oferite de zona natal. Este 100% dedicat perfeciunii n buctrie, aa c ofer tot ce este mai bun n restaurantul su pentru clienii lui!

Ludo Lefebvre este un chef francez i om de televiziune. A dobndit aptitudinile necesare unui buctar desvrit n ara sa natal, Frana, dar a emigrat n SUA, unde a primit repede ropote de aplauze i aprecieri. Buctarul ef Bourdain a devenit celebru dup ce a publicat n "The New Yorker" materialul "Nu mncai nainte de a citi asta", un articol despre lucrurile netiute din buctriile restaurantelor. S-a impus cu adevrat n lumea celebritilor culinare n 2000, cu volumul "Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly", care a devenit bestseller. Nigella Lawson este scriitoare de cri de bucate, jurnalist, care i-a nceput cariera ca scriitor de cri de bucate i critic de restaurante, apoi a devenit editor la celebra publicaie "The Sunday Times", n 1986. Prima ei carte de bucate, "How to eat", a devenit un best-seller n 1998, cu un tiraj de 300 000 de cri vndute. Fiecare din jurai trebuie s i formeze cte o echip de patru persoane, buctarii fiindu-le mentori. He acquired the skills of an accomplished chef in his native France, but emigrated to the USA, where shortly he received rounds of applause and acclaims. Chef Bourdain became famous after he published in ' The New Yorker ' the article ' Do not eat before reading this', an article about unknown things in the kitchens of restaurants. He has truly asserted within the culinary world in 2000, with the book ' Kitchen Confidential: Adventures in the Culinary Underbelly ', which became a bestseller. Nigella Lawson is a writer of cookbooks, a journalist, who began his career as a writer of cookbooks and restaurant critic, then became editor of the famous publication ' The Sunday
