Charger specification: INPUT: AC100V-240V 1.4A MAX 47-63Hz OUTPUT:29.4V direct current 1.8A Charger indicator is green when plug-in, red during battery charge and green when fully charged. Sometimes, transformer and battery connector may be hidden by cloth of battery bag. Please confirm the connector is plugged in so as to avoid green indicator, which causes false fault.

Note: charger has the function of auto power off after battery is full. Do not charge for over 24 hours, so as to reduce energy waste.

3. Cautions for safe use


1. 2. 3. 4. 5. Pre-riding inspections: Tire pressure: normal value: 65-100psi. Brake system: whether left and right brake levers can make electric bicycle irremovable. Electric-control system: whether motor, controller and battery case are assembled; whether electricity of battery case is enough. Be sure to wear bicycle helmet passing CNS test; be completely familiar with performance of electric bicycle. Wear bright clothes and trousers to ensure safe riding. Clothes should not be too loose or will be caught in running components of the bicycle.

Cautions during riding Obey traffic rules on the road; pay attention to traffic signs to avoid danger. Slow down when making a turn, and avoid sharp turn. If component damage affects safe riding, please stop riding. Do not firstly use front brake; otherwise, too rapid speed or gravity may cause danger. For braking under over rapid speed, firstly use rear brake (right) and then use front brake (left). As per existent law, object weighted over 15KG or people cant be loaded, so as to avoid danger and penalty. For safety, turn on headlight switch during night riding. Determine if electric power is sufficient before riding. In case of abnormality during riding, instantly stop to inspect the bicycle. Do not accelerate on downhill road, so as to avoid accident. For preventing accident, pay attention to other vehicles in the front. The bicycle cant be used for stunt show, jump or similar motions, so as to avoid danger or damage to components. Pay attention to obstacles that may deflect your riding, such as pit on the ground, stone and rail. Pay attention to other vehicles in the front.

Post-riding notes In case of abnormality, adrift parts, etc, make repair ASAP. Do not replace electric-control system by yourself, so as not to cause danger or damage to bicycle

Saddle position adjustment: when adjusting height of seat post, do not expose safety line on it, so as to prevent danger. Handlebar stem height adjustment: adjust handlebar stem to reach best riding height as per personal preference. Do not expose safety line to avoid danger. Electric motor wire is inside the seat post. Do not pull out seat post, so as t o avoid fault. 5

4. Operation mode
1. Start power switch of instrument displayer and riding mode will be shown. During riding, you can press MODE to switch riding mode according to actual demands: ECO mode: low auxiliary force; long endurance of about 35km. Normal mode: medium auxiliary force; endurance of about 20km. Sport mode: strong auxiliary force; endurance of about 15km. Operation of seven-gear speed transmission: forward turn and backward turn can change the rear; forward and backward turn can respectively be used for conversion into high rear and low gear.

Move: step on foot pedal for half a circle or a circle, the system will offer automatic assistance, which will be stopped once stepping is stopped. Continued assistance from the system requires stepping for another half a circle or a circle. Riding is more smooth through a combination with seven-gear speed transmission of gearshift lever. Brake: at the time of braking, electricity of motor should be interrupted and power output should be stopped immediately. Loosen brake lever and continue to step on, power supply and running of motor will be recovered. Stop: after stopping riding, please turn off power switch of instrument to avoid power loss.

5. Precautions on battery and charger operation


1. Methods and steps of battery charging

a. Connect power cord connector with transformer.

b. Plug in, transformer indicator turns green

c. Battery case can be discharged after being dismounted. Connect transformer with charging hole of battery case, transformer indictor turns red, which represents in charging. When fully charged, the indicator is green. 6

d. As shown in this picture, on-vehicle charging can be used. Connect transformer with charging hole of battery case, transformer indicator turns red. Once fully charged, the indicator turns green.

Duration of charging: 2-3hours. When transformer is plugged in, its indicator turns green. When transformer is connected with charging hole of battery for charging, the indicator is red. Once transformer is fully charged, the indicator turns green. Sometimes, transformer and battery connector may be hidden by cloth of battery bag. Please confirm the connector is plugged in so as to avoid green indicator, which causes false fault. Method and steps of battery installation

Cautions for battery


Avoid direct sunlight; keep dry and well ventilated; do not directly place battery on the ground. Ambient temperature: 5 C -40 C; do not place the battery beside inflammable articles. If battery power runs out, do not start up enforcedly, so as to avoid fault. For long time no use, use the battery after being fully charged. In case of peculiar smell or over high temperature during charging, promptly stop charging and take the battery to agency for repair. Use independent socket for charging; do not share socket with other facilities. Do not collide, knock or throw the battery case nor demount shell of battery case. Battery case must not be soaked in water; never use wet hands to plug in or 7 pull the plug during usage or charging.

6. Maintenance and troubleshooting


1. Maintenance and inspection of components is for ensuring best service condition of electric bicycle. Please maintain the bicycle regularly and inspect following items: Whether pressures of front and rear tire are proper. Whether the rare hub runs smoothly and whether oiling is needed. Whether tire tread pattern is severely worn and whether tire replacement is necessary. Whether screws and connectors of all components are loose and should be screwed. Whether theres rustiness of each component and whether component replacement is needed. Do not disassemble battery case, motor and controller by yourself. In case of any problem, take the bicycle to the dealer for inspection and repair. Maintenance instruction Never use high pressure water jet or running water to wash the bicycle, so as to avoid electronic parts wetting, which will result in fault or damage. Do not use corrosive dissolvent or detergent to wash components, so as to avoid discoloration, corrosion or deformation of plastic parts and paint surface. Use neutral solution to clean and maintain outer housing. When cleaning metal parts of bicycle body, use lubricant to wipe and maintain. Parts to be oiled: following parts should be oiled and lubricated every 1-2 months so as to ensure good service condition:
Front & rare hubs main shaft, chain flywheel front and rare brake cable

Following parts must not be oiled: bicycle body, tire, and front & rare brakes. Do not collide, knock or drop battery case. Do not dismount outer housing of battery case. Do not soak battery case in the water. Never use wet hands to plug in or pull the plug during usage or charging.

7. Q&A
Q Why the battery is dead after short-distance riding even if the power of battery is sufficient before riding? A Electricity of battery will decline after long-period placement and should be re-charged; please check
whether the mode is set as SPORT mode, which has high power consumption and can just provide shore endurance. Moreover, endurance will be shortened during continual riding on uphill road.

Q Why the motor doesnt run when stepping on pedal? A Max. speed is 25km/hr; once exceeding this limit, motor output will be stopped. If power consumption is
too low during riding on downhill road, the motor wont run. If brake is held, activate brake power-off safety device. Or, this problem occurs because battery is dead.

Q Must the power be on during riding? A When power is on, ZEPHYR BIKE will enter power assist mode. When power is cut off, you can use
ZEPHYR BIKE as regular bicycle.

Q There is burning smell or strange sound during riding? A Immediately cut off power, remove the battery and take the bike to the dealer for inspection. Q Why the motor temperature rises during riding? A This is heat dissipation effect, which is for maintaining transmission efficiency. When temperature is too
high, temperature protection device will be started and power supply will be cut off automatically. Therefore, you can ride securely.

Q Why the battery should be charged every two month even if it is not in use? A Battery power reduces over time even if the battery is not in use. If charging is not performed
immediately after the battery is dead, battery life will be shortened or damaged. Long-term placement of idle battery in the vehicle will accelerate electricity loss. Therefore, its necessary to take out battery and store it properly.

Q When should the battery be charged? A Battery should be promptly charged once battery status indicator turns red; when the battery is not in
use, it should also be fully charged at any time because the battery has discharging effect. When electricity quantity is lower than electricity protection, battery fault will happen.
