Year 2 pupils. I have Two hands is a nursery rhyme that consists of short verse to depict about the cleanliness of the students. . On the other hands, baby animals is a poem that exposes the name of the baby animals and the adult animals. For instance, kitten is the baby animal for cat and cub is the baby animal for bear. The selection of the poems is based on myriad of criteria which are the language proficiency, content, interest and moral values. In term of interest, Year Two students will be mesmerized as the content of the poems are closely related to the prior knowledge of the puppils. This is because the most preferable subjects by primary school students were animals and familiar experiences (Brown & Tomlinson, 2005). Hence, they will enjoy themselves while reading the poems as it showed the hands movement and animals. Another reason for us to choose the poems is because they are simple and short. So, the Year Two pupils will not face any problems in understand the meaning and message of the poems. Besides, the visual feature of the poems will attract children to recite the poems. For example, the poem Baby animal has beautiful illustrations about animals. These illustrations activate the visual thinking of the pupils about baby animals. They will have better understanding as the illustrations described the features of the baby animals. Furthermore, the design and layout of the poems are also able to capture the attention of the pupils. The poems embedded several underlying moral values that can be inculcated into childrens minds. For instance, children will grasp about the importance of cleanliness and hygiene through the poem I have two hands. Two activities related to the poems aforementioned are singing with action for I have two hands and matching baby animal pictures with the name of adult animals For the poem I have two hands, we will sing the rhyme with actions. This activity will provide a lot of entertainment for the pupils while they repeat and follow after the teachers. This activity will be able to promote the physical development of the pupils especially gross and fine motor skills. It will also create awareness among the pupils towards rhyming pattern and intonation of the poems. Singing with action is one of the strategies under Total Physical Response. The main advantage is to reduce the anxiety of young learners and develop their listening comprehension and production (Davies, P, 2000). This method is efficacious for Year Two pupils where their language proficiency is still at intermediate level. Furthermore, the activity selected for the poem Baby animal is matching animal with picture. In this activity, the wheel with different types of

baby animals pasted on it will be prepared. The pupils are required spin the wheel and associate the name of the baby animals with the adult animals. This activity will enhance the speaking skill of the pupils besides widening their vocabulary on animals. Every pupil is given a chance to be involved in this activity through turn taking. Through turn-taking, pupils will develop their socio-emotional aspect. Moreover, active involvement of the students will help them to retain the information about the baby animals. This is because students can remember better through direct or first-hand experience. To sum up, the chosen poems are quite suitable for the young readers which are the Year Two pupils.
