There are calculations for Any Failure and Fail to record. The latter is more applicable as this is the one that matters. The Any Failure considers things like an LED failure. These failures do not compromise the recording integrity of the system and there fore it technically has NOT failed to perform its primary function.

The first report is the calculation for All Failures at ground benign, 20c. This gives an MTBF figure of 25,900 hours. The second report is the calculation for Failure to Record at ground benign, 20c. This gives an MTBF figure of 31,500 hours. Each report lists the parts included in the calculation.
