Sector 39-A, Chandigarh 160 036 (Web add: http://imtech .res.in) ADVERTISEMENT NO. 01/2013 The Institute of Microbial Technology, a constituent establishment of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, Government of India, wishes to recruit Research Associate, Senior Project Fellows and Project Fellows on temporary basis to work in various CSIR Network projects (Under 12th Five year Plan) as per details given below. Accordingly, a Panel of suitable candidates will be made, which will be operative for a maximum period of one year from the date of interview: POSITIONS FOR WALK IN INTERVIEW ON 11.03.2013 (MONDAY) 1. Research Associates-(03 positions) Essential Qualification: PhD in Bio-physics, Bioinformatics, Cheminformatics, Pharmacoinformatics Desirable: Practical research experience in the areas mentioned above Stipend: - Rs. 22,000/-plus HRA @20% Age limit : - 35 years as on 11.03.2013 Essential Qualification: 1st Class B.Tech/ B.E./ M.Sc. in Bio-physics, Cheminformatics, Pharmacoinformatics, informatics, Bioinformatics with minimum 2 years research experience. Desirable: Practical research experience in the areas mentioned above Stipend: - Rs. 18,000/- + HRA @ 20% Age limit :- 32 years as on 11.03.2013 3. Project Fellows (10 positions) Essential Qualification: 1st Class B.Tech/ B.E./ M.Sc. in Bio-physics, Cheminformatics, Pharmacoinformatics, informatics, Bioinformatics Desirable: Stipend: Age limit : Practical research experience in the areas mentioned above Rs.16,000/- plus 20% HRA p.m. - 28 years as on 11.03.2013 POSITIONS FOR WALK IN INTERVIEW ON 12.03.2013 (TUESDAY) 4. Research Associates-(04 positions) Essential Qualification: PhD in Life Sciences, Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biotechnology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Genetic Engineering, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Animal Sciences, Pharmacology, Chemical Sciences, Environmental Science. Desirable: Practical research experience in the areas mentioned above & practical experience in handling

2. Senior Project Fellows (05 positions)

small experimental animals, mammalian tissue culture, working with pathogens like Mycobacterium tuberculosis, computational biology.
Stipend: Age limit: - Rs. 22,000/-plus HRA @ 20% - 35 years as on 12.03.2013

5. Senior Project Fellows (Panel to be drawn) Essential Qualification: M.Sc. 1st class in Physics, Life Science or Biology discipline such as Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Biotechnology, Chemical Sciences with minimum 2 years research experience. Desirable: Practical research experience in the areas mentioned above Stipend: - Rs. 18,000/- + HRA @ 20% Age limit :- 32 years as on 12.03.2013 6. Project Fellows (12 positions) Essential Qualification: M.Sc. 1st class Physics, Life Science or Biology discipline such as Bio-Chemistry, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Genetics, Chemical Sciences, Biotechnology, M.Pharma. Desirable: Practical research experience in the areas mentioned above and experience of working with lab animals. Stipend: Rs.16,000/- plus 20% HRA p.m. Age limit : - 28 years as on 12.03.2013 (Relaxation in case of SC/ST/OBC/Physically Handicapped/women will be as per GOI Rules).

The engagement as a Project Fellow/Sr. Project Fellow/Research Associate in the projects is purely on temporary basis maximum for the period of duration of the project. However, appointment will initially be offered for a period of one year and will be extended yearly basis till the duration of the project depending on the satisfactory performance of the incumbent. The appointment can be terminated by either side by giving one months notice or stipend in lieu thereof. Total duration of project fellowship/assistantship in CSIR Laboratories is maximum of 5 years. Therefore, if an incumbent switches between the projects, the appointment will terminate on the day he/she completes 05 years as a Project Fellow. Please note that it is not an IMTECH/CSIR appointment and will not confer any right of the incumbent to any claim implicit or explicit on any position. Number of positions may vary. Such of the candidates who fulfils the eligibility conditions may please Walk-in-interview for Post No.1,2&3 on 11.03.2013 (Monday) at 09.30 A.M. (Sharp) and for Post No.4, 5 &6 on 12.03.2013 (Tuesday) at 09.30 A.M. (Sharp) in the Seminar Hall of this Institute along with complete bio-data duly signed affixed with latest passport size photograph and also enclosing photocopies of certificates/testimonials in support of date of birth, qualification/ experience etc. Original certificates are also to be produced at the time of interview. No TA will be paid for attending the interview. Note: Result awaited and Thesis submitted candidates are not eligible for interview and Candidates turn up after 11.00 A.M will not be allowed.
