PROPOSAL FOR THE SPONSORSHIP/FACILITATION OF BIAFRA CUP (U17) FOOTBALL COMPETITION JUNE JULY 2013 2013

1.0. INTRODUCTION Biafra Sport Club was founded in the year 2010 and attained official registration under the National Sports Council of Tanzania (BMT) on the 20th day of January, 2012 with registration No. NSC. 9848. The club headquarters is located at Kinondoni Municipality, Isele Street, Dar es Salaam. To date, the club registered more than 50 members who are above the age of 18 and more than 40 members who are below 18 years old.

2.0. OBJECTIVES OF THE CLUB 2.1. Main Objective The main objective of the club is to use sports as a means of protecting, maintaining and strengthening members and the societies physical and mental health and fitness as well as using available opportunities and resources to promote and provide socio-economic development to the members and the general public at large.

2.2. Specific Objectives In order to achieve the main objective above, the club has the following specific objectives: 2.2.1. To promote and encourage members and other persons to participate in various sports including jogging, 2.2.2. To establish, promote, facilitate as well develop youth teams for different kind of sports including but not limited to football, basketball, tennis,

swimming, e.t.c. 2.2.3. To establish a sports academy in order to train youths in various sports and develop their talents for their own benefit and the country, 2.2.4. To organise sports competitions such as youth leagues in order to scout and develop youth talents, 2.2.5. To organise and participate in trainings of different kind of sports,

BIAFRA CUP COMPETITION Biafra Sports Club organizes competitions of different kind of sports. The said competitions are known as Biafra Cup Competition/Tournament. The objective of organizing such competition is to identify/scout and promote talents in different type of sports such as football, basketball, netball, e.t.c. and provide them with high level of discipline to develop playing skills, disseminate information and raising awareness of the participants in various issues of concern to the society.

BIAFRA CUP (U17) FOOTBALL COMPETITION JUNE JULY 2013

In this year 2013 the club is organizing Biafra Cup (U17) Football competition which is scheduled to take place from the 2nd day of June to the 7th day of July. The tournament is expected to be strong and competitive one whereby 16 youth teams from various sports academies will participate in the tournament. The theme for the said competition is IBUA NA ENDELEZA KIPAJI CHA KIJANA. The 2013 Biafra Cup (U17) objectives are: 3.1.1. To provide young players and match officials with an opportunity to showcase their talent as well as promote their physical and mental health and wellbeing, 3.1.2. To assist young players to acquire and develop different football characteristics through contact with their peer, 3.1.3. To mobilize young players and instill a sense of fair play in the best traditions of true sportsmanship, 3.1.4. To raise awareness on issues that are affecting youths at large such as drug abuse, HIV/AIDS and STDs, childrens rights through peer to peer discussion, distribution of leaflets and brochures, banners, e.t.c. 3.1.5. To promote and encourage other stakeholders to organize healthy, competitive recreation tournaments for young players.

The tournament will take place during the month which the African continent and the world at large commemorate THE DAY OF AFRICAN CHILD on 16th June, 2013. More than 200 people are expected to be gathered during the matches; therefore the organizing committee will use the tournament to raise awareness of children rights as part of celebrating the said day.

3.2.

ORGANISATION OF THE COMPETITION The Executive Committee together with Technical Committee of the Club will establish a committee which shall be responsible for the organization of the event. The said committee will select participating teams, general organization, implementation and supervision of the competition.

3.2.1. Match Officials The match officials from Twalipo Youth Soccer Foundation are expected to participate in the said tournament as referees and assistant referees in all 56 matches to be played. The said foundation train and provide refereeing skills to youths who are talented and interested to become referees in their future. These young referees have performed well in various youth tournaments such as Copa Coca Cola finals, Uhai Cup, NSSF Cup, e.t.c. to which they were participating as match officials.

3.2.2. Rules and Regulations of the Competition The organizing committee will lay-out rules and regulation to govern the competition. These rules and regulation will provide definitive point of reference for the standardization and discipline of Athletics throughout the tournament.

3.2.3. Awards There will be various prizes to be awarded to the winners and other officials in different categories. These categories are; the champion of the tournament, second winner, top scorer, the best disciplined player of the competition, best disciplined team of the competition, the best official, certificate of participation for each participating team and officials, e.t.c.

3.2.4. The budget The budget to cater the said tournament is Tanzania Shillings Nine Million Six hundreds Sixty Thousand (9, 660, 000.00) whereby the detailed information of the said budget is annexed herewith.

4.0.

SPONSORING THE BIAFRA CUP (U17) FOOTBALL COMPETITION JUNE JULY 2013 In order to meets the tournaments outlined objective and budget successfully, facilitation as well as sponsorship is highly needed. Sponsors will play a very important role of facilitating the tournament by providing fund/grant and or facilities required for the tournament as shown in the budget.

By sponsoring/facilitating the tournament sponsors on their part will have the opportunity to display and publicize their services or products during the matches and the tournament will be a platform whereby these sponsors will meet their customers/clients. Also 0 by sponsoring this tournament, the sponsors will be fulfilling their corporate responsibility in supporting the community and the nation at large through youth sports.
