MATERIAL SPECIFICATION SHEET

All material is subject to inspection/grading upon arrival. Prices are subject to


change without notice, please call 810-785-9759 for current pricing.

At R.J. Torching, Inc., we are scrap metal recyclers and DO NOT accept the
following material: electric ballast, spark plug wires, refrigerators containing
freon, pressurized tanks such as propane, acetylene, oxygen, etc., large boats
(cabin cruisers), RVs, computer monitors, televisions, garbage/trash, plastic,

rubber, wood or hazardous materials. Estimated Weight Deductions will be made
for any plastic, dirt, water, ice, snow, hydraulic fluids, oils, wood, etc., that arrive
with the material(s).

NON-FERROUS METALS:

Barebright Copper: Clean copper wire, pencil lead thickness or bigger.


#1 Copper: Clean copper tubing, no paint, no solder or solder joints.
#2 Copper: Dirty copper, no ferrous items on it.
#3 Copper: Roof flashing, gutters, downspouts.
#1 Insulated Copper: Pencil lead thickness or bigger, no silver coating.
#2 Insulated Copper: Less than pencil lead thickness, can have silver coating.
#3 Insulated Copper: Phone line, communication wire, coaxial cable,
Christmas lights, etc. (No spark plug wires).

Electric Motors: Electric motors, transformers, starters, alternators, etc.

Fuses: Commercial fuses (no buss fuses).

Hard Brass: Wear parts, bearings, etc.


Red Brass: Brass valves (no handles, no steel, no plastic).
Mag Bronze: Brass that has a magnetic pull.
Yellow Brass: All other brass not described above.
Irony Brass: Brass that contains more than 10% iron.
Heater Cores: No steel.

Auto Radiators: No steel, no radiator caps or plastic ends.
Irony Auto Radiators: Auto radiators that are not cleaned (ie., caps, ends, hoses still
attached, steel rails).
Mixed Aluminum: Misc aluminum with no more than 3% iron or plastic.
2% Aluminum: Extrusion that contains 2% aluminum.
Aluminum Radiators: Can contain plastic ends and some steel.
Cast Aluminum: Cannot contain no more than 3% iron.
Mixed Low Copper (MLC): Non extrusion grade aluminum.
New Clip: New non extrusion grade aluminum
Aluminum Copper Radiator: Clean aluminum/copper radiators.
Irony Aluminum Copper Radiators: Can contain steel ends.
Aluminum Turnings: Clean aluminum turnings.
6061/Extrusion/Bare: Clean aluminum extrusion with no stickers, paint, etc.
Mixed Extrusion: Clean aluminum extrusion with paint.
Irony Aluminum: Aluminum that contains more than 3% iron.
Aluminum Siding: Clean aluminum siding, downspouts, gutters, etc. (no steel).
Aluminum Wheels: No tires, but can contain valve stems and weights.
Aluminum Rim With Tire: Aluminum rim with tire.
ACSR Wire: Aluminum coated wire (insulated) and aluminum CATV wire.
Transmissions: Graded as irony aluminum (see above).
Aluminum Dump Boxes: Any aluminum over 3ft x 3ft that needs to be prepared to size.

Lead: Clean lead, no steel.


Wheel Weights: Lead/steel wheel weights.

Stainless Steel: Cannot contain any steel, iron, plastic, rubber, etc.
Stainless Steel Turnings: Cannot contain any steel, iron, plastic, rubber, etc.
Irony Stainless Steel: Stainless steel that contains no more than 10% iron.

Titanium: Clean titanium that contains no other materials.

Carbide: Clean carbide that contains no other materials.

Small Batteries: Lawnmower, motorcycle, snowmobile batteries.


Automotive Batteries: Car/light truck batteries.
Marine Batteries: Marine/diesel truck batteries.
FERROUS METALS:

Rebar: Rerod that is less than ½” thick.

Sheet Iron: Steel/Iron that is less than ¼” thick, appliances, lawn & garden equipment,
motorcycles, bikes, etc. (motorcycles must have clear Title. (No Liens))

Automobiles: Cars, light trucks, school buses. Mercury bulbs must be removed (under
hood/trunk lid), hole in fuel tank (no fuel), must have clear Title (No
Liens).

Farm Equipment: Tractors, haybines, plows, haars, combines, etc.

Heavy Trucks: Diesel trucks, no fuel and must have clear Title (No Liens).

Unprepared Plate & Structural: Steel/Iron that requires torching that is more than ¼”
thick.

Prepared Plate & Structural: Steel/Iron that is more than ¼” thick that is no more than
5’ long x 2’ in any other direction.

Injection Mold Machines: Must be drained of fluids.

Press Parts: Presses and misc. press parts.

Dies: Steel stamping dies.

Unprepared Heavy Melt: Cable, cast iron, rearends, shafts, hydraulic cylinders,
galvanized steel over ¼”.

Prepared Heavy Melt: Cast heads, rotors, engine blocks (no pistons), crankshafts,
rearends in half, cut hydraulic cylinders, cast or galvanized steel
that is no more than 5’ long x 2’ in any other direction.

#1 Bailing: Clean busheling over 5’ (new coil scrap).

#2 Bailing: Painted clean busheling over 5’ (new coil scrap).

Busheling: New steel that is less than 2’ in all directions.

Busheling Black: Galvanized or painted new steel that is less than 2’ in all directions.

Converters: Call ahead for pricing or will grade in yard upon arrival.
