Mimi Stanley

Greetings! I am a native North Dakotan, having grown up on our family farm. From these roots my passion for horses and competition dressage was born. Dressage is the classically correct training of the horse & rider that competitively culminates at Olympic level competition. It involves complex patterns of increasing difficulty much like figure skating. I began my competitive dressage career at the age of six. Since then I have immersed myself in the education needed to built the skills I must have to reach my goals. My goals are to train & compete with the worlds best in dressage. I have been very fortunate for the help I have been given along the way. First I have to thank my family: Dad, Mom, Ross, but there have been so many others. Certainly both my trainer from Germany, Conrad Schumacher and my dearest friend and supporter, Sally Henry have been most instrumental to my success. To date I have earned eleven National Championships and eleven Reserve National Championships in dressage and Sport Horse competition at the Arabian Sport Horse Nationals. Through the United States Dressage Federation I have received my Bronze, Silver & Gold Medals as well as thirteen All Breeds Horse of the Year Awards including the USDF Young Rider Grand Prix. In 2010 I was chosen by The Dressage Foundation as one of only four young dressage riders from the US to go to Europe to experience dressage at an International level.

Now as I finish my college education in Business and Equine Science I am looking forward to the next step of my career. I have found a love for building horses by developing their mind and body. I have a passion for competition and a drive to win but I realize I can not do it alone. It is a team effort of instructors, vets, farriers, grooms, horse owners but most of all sponsors. It takes these supporters to insure a teams success. I invite you to become part of that team. It is a journey that is already underway. Birth date - August 17, 1989; daughter of Curt and Karla Stanley, brother Ross Stanley. I graduated with Distinction from Century High School in 2008 and from Bismarck State College with an Associate of Science in Business Administration in 2010. In 2012, I will be completing my Bachelor of Science in Equine Studies from NDSU in Fargo, ND. My family and I own and operate Prairie Rose Farm and Training Center in Bismarck, ND where I train, teach and show professionally. I began pursuing my FEI education in April of 2005 with my Grand Prix horse EA Cygnus+//. In 2008 I completed my USDF Gold Medal and was an alternate for The Dressage Foundation Olympic Dream Trip. Cygnus completed his USDF Grand Prix Performance Certificate earning eight of the remaining ten scores needed and was the 2008 USDF Junior/Young Rider Grand Prix Horse of the Year. I was a working student the spring of 2008 at Tempel Lipizzan Farm in Illinois. During my stay I was assigned numerous stallions to school, rode in a Tempel Farm performance and in the nightly performances at the Indiana Horse Fest. In 2010 I was selected for TDF Olympic Dream Trip. For 10 days I toured Germany observing the training of the worlds best riders and dressage horses. Karla Stanley is my coach and trainer at home. I train quarterly with German Dressage Master, Conrad Schumacher and Amy Larson from Missouri. I have also ridden with George Williams, Kathy Connelly, Jeff Moore, Lendon Gray, Melanie Tenney, Sarah Geikie, Debbie Riehl Rodriguez, Amanda Johnson, Jochen Hippenstiel and Lilo Fore. My short term goals are to help run, improve and expand the family business of training and breeding sport horses, especially while my dad is deployed in Kosovo. Long range goals include pursuing my USDF judging and instructor certifications, developing FEI horses and riding for the US Equestrian Team. My method is education and precise practice. My business is horses. My passion is dressage.
