MESSAGE FROM PRINCIPAL

Innovation is a process related to every moment of

the life. It has been widely accepted that innovation is not mere talent but it is a skill which needs to be

encouraged and supported thoroughly. Seeing the needs of

modern India, today technology does not only require speed, rather encouragement to innovative skills. The students should have such a quest for experimentation and discoveries that they achieve success for themselves and the society as a whole. The overall aim for engineers should be to make; imagination

their habit, creativity their passion, curiosity a part the life and
based on this innovation should become our tradition. TECH INNOVER is a way for students to correlate with the magic in

them, and to make themselves different from the masses. I wish

the organizing team all the success for this event.

Brain Machine Interface

Sidhika Varshney, Bhoomika Gaur

Today BMIs designed for both experimental and clinical studies can translate raw neuronal signals into motor commands that reproduce arm reaching and hand grasping movements in artificial actuators. In these systems, users explicitly manipulate their brain activity instead of using motor movements to produce signals that can be used to control computers or communication devices. The impact of this work is extremely high, especially to those who suffer from devastating neuromuscular injuries and neurodegenerative diseases, which eventually strip individuals of voluntary muscular activity while leaving cognitive function intact. BMI research and development has grown explosively over the past two decades. Efforts have begun recently to provide laboratory -validated BMI systems to severely disabled individuals for real-world applications. In this paper, we discuss the current status and future prospects of BMI technology and its clinical applications. We will define BMI, review the BMI -relevant signals from the human brain, and describe the functional components of BMIs. Lastly, we will review current clinical applications of BMI technology and identify potential users and potential applications.

Self Guided Parking System

Faraz Ahmad, Shagufta

Parking in shopping complexes is a major issue. It requires constant monitoring as well as manual guiding. This involves a lot of effort, time and money. In our project we aim to automate this mechanism using a Radio Frequency Identification based system. Every car entering the parking area will be provided with a Radio frequency Identification tag. Issue of tags will be done with a mechanical arm. A reader placed at the entry point would read the tag on the car and convey this information to the system. The system would then allot the nearest vacant slot to the car. The path to the allotted slot will be instantaneously indicated by means of fluorescent lights, LEDs and glowing signboards. The driver can easily follow the path showed by LEDs and park his car. Thus no manual intervention is needed. This would save a considerable time and money.

Cloud Computing
Nehal Sharma

Computing as you know it is about to change, your applications and documents are going to move from the desktop into the cloud. Im talking about cloud computing, where applications and files are hosted on a cloud consisting of thousands of computers and servers, all linked together and accessible via the Internet. With cloud computing, everything you do is now web based instead of being desktop based. You can access all your programs and documents from any computer thats connected to the Internet. How will cloud computing change the way you work? For one thing, youre no longer tied to a single computer. You can take your work anywhere because its always accessible via the web. In addition, cloud computing facilitates group collaboration, as all group members can access the same programs and documents from wherever they happen to be located. Cloud computing might sound far -fetched, but chances are youre already using some cloud applications. If youre using a web based email program, such as Gmail or Hotmail, youre computing in the cloud. If youre using a web -based application such as Google Calendar or Apple Mobile Me, youre computing in the cloud. If youre using a file- or photo-sharing site, such as Flickr or Picasa Web Albums, youre computing in the cloud. Its the technology of the future, available to use today.

Image Steganography
Nishi Agarwal, Rachit Bansal

Steganography is one of the techniques used for secret communication. Steganography is the process of hiding a secret message within a larger one in such a way that no one suspects the presence of the hidden message. The purpose of Steganography is to provide secret communication between two parties. Many different carrier file formats like text, image, audio/video etc. can be used, but digital images are most popular because of their frequency on the Internet. This is known as image steganography. There are currently three effective methods for applying Image Steganography: LSB Substitution, Blocking, and Palette Modification. The Least Significant Bit (LSB) method is the most common and easiest way of hiding messages in an image. This paper gives a brief idea about the image steganography that makes use of Least Significant Bit (LSB) algorithm for hiding the data into an image. A new steganography algorithm based on LSB Substitution for gray scale images is presented and implemented in this paper which firsts encrypts the data (text and image) and key and then hide it in images .

Novel Algorithm of Video Encryption

Mohammad Farooq, Ambreen Bano

The rapid growth of the Internet and digitized content made video distribution simpler. The need for video data protection is on the rise. Classic encryption algorithms like DES, RSA etc. are not feasible for video data because of its large size and high computational requirements. In this paper, we propose a secure and computationally feasible video encryption algorithm based on the principle of Secret key. The ability to protect and secure information is vital to the growth of electronic commerce and to the growth of the Internet itself. Many people need or want to use communications and data security in different areas. Many encryption/decryption techniques used for encryption/decryption of the data for protection of the data from unauthorized access. Our algorithm for encryption of video files is fast and can encrypt or recover original data successfully. Algorithm use 128-bit key. The key which is given to the user is not our main key and used only for the authentication. We generate new key each time for encryption of the video file and users have no information about our main keys. Our algorithm passes 7 NIST Randomness Test.

Piezo-Smart Roads
Priyanshu Kumar, Devansh Sharma

In order to satisfy the rising energy demands of global consumption, a new cleaner and renewable power source needs to be explored, conceptualized and developed. This paper intends to introduce an alternative source of energy by using piezoelectric material -a class of smart material. A piezoelectric road that will produce electricity from the stress experienced by the roads due to the movement of automobiles is proposed. The main principle behind this is the piezoelectric effect. The energy is produced from the consumers participation and it does not require any separate source of input energy .

Running a Car Using Modified Hybrid System

Rehan Husain

This paper is an effort to find solution in this regard. The causes of this petrol crisis are many. Need of the hour is to implement energy saving methods and green technologies to generate enough electricity without damaging nature. And wise and careful use of natural resources that is petrol. As we all know that the petroleum prices are increasing day by day so there must be an alternative to petroleum. Efforts have been made in this regard but they were not so successful such as solar cars and other hybrid vehicles. The approximate average given by a vehicle is about 35 to 40 per km. In this era of population and pollution there must be some alternative to give the required output without damaging our nature as well increasing our average of our vehicle and decreasing the use of petroleum. Our modified system will comprise of turbines which we will use in place of tiers, Sensors, LED photo diode, Microprocessor. This paper is an effort to run vehicle with lesser or very small consumption of petrol. Initially little petrol will be able to give enough energy to our hybrid system so that our turbines can run at a proper speed then with the help of our hybrid system our vehicle will run on the roads. Basically our motive is to run a vehicle without the aid of petrol in this world of extreme inflation.

Superconductors: History and Potential Future

Tapan Upadhyay, Sameer Khan, Sakshi Sharma

As the natural sources of energy decreases due to the increasing energy demand, the need for efficient or "Loss Less" power system increases simultaneously. Loss of electrical energy due to resistance has been (and still is) a major head -ache to the engineers all over the world. With the discovery of "Superconductivity" by H. K. Onnes in 1911, a new concept of resistance -less conductors was visualized, but the cryogenic environment needed for superconductivity made a hole through such dreams of scientists until the discovery of HTS i.e. High Temperature Superconductors (still cryogenic) in 1986, which gave hope to the world and a great progress took place in advancement of use of superconductors. With the discovery of superconducting alloys and ceramics, a major step of commercialization was taken by certain companies and governments of some nations. Many applications of superconductors have been applied since then but the main motive of loss -less transmission still requires innovation and development. Recent developments in Electric Double Layer Transistors (EDLTs) are attracting growing interests of people concerned. If starting with underground transmission lines made of superconducting wires over a small area and then analyzing the total input (including cost, which has been a major setback) and output we can develop engineering skills and materials required for major implementation in power system

Wavelet Based Features For Seizure Detection

Utsav Sharma, Nanika Jain, Vishakha Chaudhary

Electroencephalogram (EEG) is a medical imaging technique that records the electrical activity in the brain. Epilepsy, the second most common neurological disorder characterized by sudden and recurrent neurological firing in the brain, can be detected by analyzing EEG of the subject. The EEG recording utilized in this study consists of normal EEG (set A) and seizure EEG (set E). Each recording was of length 23.6 sec. EEG data were segmented into frames of 178 samples. In this paper Daubecheis wavelet of order 2 was used for decomposition, then energy was calculated for each channel of EEG signal and then mean of channels energy was calculated. During classification, the data was partitioned into the training (80%) and test (20%) sets using multi-fold cross validation. 100% accuracy was obtained which clearly suggests that the features selected were able to discriminate between the seizure and normal activity.

Green Building
Surbhi Raghav, Manish Tomar, Ila Varshney

Today we are living in a modern world called the "scientific world". We are moving forward utilizing more and more resources around us. We are making more and more colonies to live but space is becoming less and less. Green building concept is a big land mark in field of housing. With the help of this we can save our energy resources such as water, and material resources in construction and maintenance. Green roofs is a main part of green building concept. It is of two types: a) intensive and b) extensive. Intensive roof can bear thicker and wide variety of plants, While extensive roof can bear light layer of vegetation. It has many environmental benefits. It reduces heating and increases natural habitat creation. It also filter pollutants along with increasing agricultural space. Green roofs are also known as "cool roofs". Like every coin has two faces, some disadvantages also go with this concept.

It is initially very costly to establish but if it is applied on a large scale with the help of government and individuals, it will surely jump off the barrier of cost because once it is stabilized it also increase the life span of roof and requires low maintenance. This poster will reflect the concept of green building, and its major advantages like reduction in global warming, and environmental pollution and enrich ecosystem.
