Lubricants and Metalworking Fluids

ERUCICAL H-102, commonly referred to as HEAR oil, is ideal for use as a lubricity additive in metalworking fluids and as a base oil in hydraulic fluid applications. The higher molecular weight and unique free fatty acid carbon chain distribution of ERUCICAL H-102 account for its superior lubricity in these applications when compared with other fats, oils and esters. ERUCICAL H-102 is readily biodegradable and ideally suited for applications where recycling is impossible, worker exposure is likely or contact with the environment is inevitable. Compared to other vegetable oils currently available, ERUCICAL H-102 is more compatible with existing vegetable oil emulsifier packages, increases lubricity on all metals, improves corrosion protection and tramp water rejection.

Utilizing H-102 rather than a sulfated butyl oleate (or equivalent) in a light to heavy duty machining and grinding fluid for all metals (diluted with water 7:1 16:1 for machining of ferrous metals, 6:1 12:1 for machining of nonferrous metals, and 5:1 10:1 for forming applications) can result in: White, opaque emulsion in all types of water Excellent wetting and coverage on all types of metals with little foam Excellent blend of boundary and extreme pressure lubrication Excellent corrosion and stain protection Good residue properties with a light, fluid residue
