QATAR FOUNDATION
Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development is a private, non-prot organization established in 1995 by His Highness Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani. Her Highness Sheikha Mozah Bint Nasser Al-Missned is the chairperson of Qatar Foundation and personally guides the organizations direction and programs. Education City is also conceived of as a forum, where universities can share facilities and research and forge relationships with businesses and other institutions. Qatar Science and Technology Park and Sidra Medical and Research Center are two of the latest developments in Qatar Foundations strategy to transform the country into one of the worlds leading knowledge-based societies. Across the board Qatar Foundation is making a tremendous investment in the people of Qatar and the region. By supporting education and innovative research, existing industries will advance and new ones will be created. By investing in community health and development, the quality of life across the region will improve. By establishing and partnering with top-level educational institutions, Qatar Foundation is creating a new generation of leaders.

Many of Qatar Foundations member organizations are located in Education City. Situated on the periphery of Doha, the site covers 14 million square meters and houses educational facilities which range from school age to research level, including branch campuses of some of the worlds leading universities. This boldventure aims to be the blueprint for academic excellence in the GCC by instructing students in subjects of critical importance to the region.
