Installing NX 7.

5 on Microsoft Windows Operating Systems

The following process is explained in steps. Explaination is provided in steps where necessary. But before starting please make sure that 1- You have atleast 6 GB free space in C: drive. 2- You are connected through VPN or through Cable net to the NTNU network. The network should be stable. 3- You have administrative rights over the computer you are installing. 4- The first time when you try to access the server iipm-plm1.ivt.ntnu.no, you are asked for username and password. You need to save your password otherwise the session expires and connection is lost to the server after a particular amount of time. Provide your username as win.ntnu.no\username and then password.

Step 1:Installing NX7.5

Please browse to the location \\iipm-plm1.ivt.ntnu.no\UGS_INSTALL\UGS_Install\NX7.5\1. NX7.5 Base Installation and then enter the appropriate folder based on your OS (x86 or 64).Click on the file called Launch. The installation process will start. During the installation please make sure that you install it to the location C:\UGS\NX75 and that there is no space in the folder names. When asked for the license server please provide the details are 28000@iipm-plm1.ivt.ntnu.no;28000@iipm-plm2.ivt.ntnu.no Process with the rest of the installation.

Step 2:Installing Documentation

Please browse to the location \\iipm-plm1.ivt.ntnu.no\UGS_INSTALL\UGS_Install\NX7.5\2. NX7.5 Documentation\dvdrom_ugdoc075 and click on the Launch file. It should be able to install your documentation to C:\UGS\NX75.

Step 3:Installing NX7.5 Updates

Please browse to the location \\iipm-plm1.ivt.ntnu.no\UGS_INSTALL\UGS_Install\NX7.5\3. NX7.5 Maintenance Releases\NX7.5.3 and then to the appropriate folder based on your operating system (x86 or x64). Then in the folders dvdrom0753_03\ugs_update0753 and then click on the file called ugs_update. This should install the NX7.5 update to the computer.

Step 4:Installing NX Cast

Please browse to the location \\iipm-plm1.ivt.ntnu.no\UGS_INSTALL\UGS_Install\NX7.5\4. NX7.5 CAST and then to the appropriate folder based on your operating system (x86 or x64). Please click on the file called Launch. The NX Cast installation process will start. During this process, please make sure that you install the Cast to the folder C:\UGS\NX75.

Installation completed!!! Important Notes:

Your license information is stored in the environment variable called UGS_LICENSE_SERVER And it should have the value 28000@iipm-plm1.ivt.ntnu.no;28000@iipm-plm2.ivt.ntnu.no Your bundle information is stored in the environment variable called UGS_LICENSE_BUNDLE and it should have the value ACD;NX10100N You can reach to the environment variable by Right Click on my My Computer and selecting Properties -> and then selecting Advanced System Settings. A window will open and here you should see a button called Environment Variables. You will set up all of the variables in System variables section.
