P: By car, by bicycle, by bas, by van, walk T: Amy, How does a car moves? P: The car is powered by a machine. T: Good. Today we will learn about the simple machine in a complex machine.

Development Step 1 (10 minutes) To name the simple machines they have learnt. (Observing) 1. Teacher divides pupils into 4 groups. 2. Teacher distributes worksheet 1 to pupils. 3. Teacher asks the pupils to name the simple machines according to the diagrams given. 4. Teacher discusses the answers together with the pupils. T: Class, please sit in your own group. Do this exercise, name the simple machines according to the diagrams given.

T: Group 1, what is the answer for diagram 1? P: The lever. T: Group 2, what is the answer for diagram 2? P: The pulley. T: Group 3, what is the answer for diagram 3? P: The gear. T: Group 4, what is the answer for diagram 4? P: The wheel and axle. T: How about diagram 5 and 6? P: Wedge and screw.

WEEK 3 DAY 11 Step 2 (15 minutes) To introduces complex machine. (Communicating)

PENVIEW INN 1. Teacher explains the meaning of complex machine. 2. Teacher gives one example of the complex machine. (Bicycle) 3. Teacher asks pupils to label the simple machines in a bicycle individually.(Worksheet 2)

GROUP 1/07 T: Class, some tools use more than one simple machine to work. A tool with more than one simple machine is called a complex machine. One of the example is a bicycle. Can you label the simple machines that can be found in a bicycle. Barry, please come forward and write down your answers. Barry: lever, gears, wheel and axle

Step 3 (25 minutes)

Evaluation (Observing)

1. Teacher distributes worksheet 3 to pupils. 2. Teacher asks the pupils to name the simple machine that can be found in each complex machine given. 3. Pupils answer the question individually. 4. Teacher discusses the answers together with pupils.

T: Class, complete the exercise given to you by name the simple machine that can be found in each complex machine. I give you 15 minutes to complete the exercise. [After 15 minutes] T: Class, I would like you to exchange the worksheet with your friend sitting next to you. Lets check your exercise together. ( Teacher gives the answers to the pupils) T: What are the simple machines that can be found in the robot car? P: Wheel and axle, lever, gear and Screw. T: Well done, class. That all for today. Thank you, class. P: Thank you, teacher.

Closure (5 minutes)

To end the lesson.

1. Teacher will show a video clip of a robot car on the screen. 2. Teacher asks pupils to state the simple machines on the robot car. 3. Teacher plays again the video clip.
