No Course Director: Usha Mistry Course Location: High Holborn The Access to HE Diploma (Fashion Business) offers a unique one year intensive programme that will prepare you for entry into higher education or to re-direct your career into the fashion industry, particularly in marketing, retail or management.. The programme is aimed at a broad range of people from a variety of backgrounds including those without any formal qualifications. What will I be doing? The course is organised into core and specialist modules. You are required to study all the units on the course and must complete the core units successfully in order to gain the Access certificate. Units cover Further Education Level 2 and Level 3. This course offers you an intensive programme of study with core subjects, Information Technology, Study Skills and Cultural Studies. The emphasis throughout the course is on building confidence by focusing on the development of essential skills. For those wishing to progress to higher education courses in fashion business, special emphasis is placed on the development of numerical skills delivered through the Finance units and additional numeracy classes. Your individual progression and development is supported through the Personal and Professional Development Programme. This is designed to support you not only through your studies but also through your selection of, and application to, higher education courses and to facilitate your evaluation of career prospects. Time is set aside during the course when you are offered the opportunity to research higher education and careers options thoroughly. The Access to HE Diploma (Fashion Business) course is accredited through the Open College Network (OCN), London Region. Course units include: - Essay Writing - Using Information Technology

What are the entry requirements? You should: - have a broad interest in fashion, media, arts and current affairs - show motivation to succeed on the course - have IELTS level of 5.0 or equivalent if you are an International/EU student and English is not your first language How to apply All applications to study Access to HE (Fashion Business) must be made direct to the College using the Further Education, Professional Development & Part-Time Undergraduate Studies application form. In order to avoid delays in the processing of an application form it is important that the form is completed in full. Students must provide full details of all qualifications and work experience and include a supporting statement. Early application is advised, however London College of Fashion will always consider applications, subject to the availability of places. Applications will not be processed without a reference. The interview process will include a short numeracy test and the course team will interview you in small groups. We will be looking for motivation, commitment to study and a breadth and interest in general knowledge. What next? The course is well established and has a proven track record in enabling students to progress to further study and also into industry. Graduates from the Access programme have a broad range of opportunities for employment in the fashion and supporting industries. Students without prior experience or qualifications who successfully complete the course might progress to junior roles in fashion product development and trading or retail head offices.
