Air Valve Assembly 9000 Replacement Instructions
The Air Valve Assembly is located at the top of the Gantry, and controls the plunging of the Head and the plunging of the Blade.

Air Valve Assembly

Tools Needed:
7/64 Allen Wrench 5/32 Allen Wrench

Step 1: Turn Off Air and Remove Gantry Cover


1. Turn off the computer and the air supply. 2. Remove the gantry cover by removing the two screws that hold it in place (Fig A).

Step 2: Unscrew Air Valve Assembly From the Gantry


1. Locate the air valve assembly on the top left side of the gantry (Fig B) by standing in front of the gantry and looking straight through the wires and air lines to the back plate of the gantry. 2. Locate the two Allen screws holding the air valve assembly in place (Fig C). Do not adjust the other two screws on the air valve assembly. 3. Use a 7/64 Allen T-Handle wrench to remove the two screws securing the air valve assembly to the gantry. Take note that these screws are tight and may be difficult to remove. Save the screws.

Step 3: Unplug Power Plugs


1. Before unplugging the air valve assembly power plugs (Fig A), note the position of each one. a. The bottom plug closest to the back of the gantry has a red plastic marker. b. The middle plug has a clear/white plastic marker. c. The top plug has no marker at all. 2. Unplug each by squeezing the plug gently and pulling it straight out from the housing (Fig B-C).

Step 4: Disconnect Air Lines


1. Unplug the air valve assembly air lines (Fig A) by untwisting the air line connectors (Fig B) from the gantry air lines. 2. Remove the air valve assembly from the gantry (Fig C-D). Note: Two of the air lines of the air valve assembly may be connected underneath a set of wires. If the air line does not have connectors, this air line may need to be cut in order to remove the air valve assembly (Fig D). Cut with caution, and make sure no wires are cut.

Step 4: Screw in the Replacement Air Valve Assembly to the Gantry


1. Take the screws from the old air valve assembly and place them into the new one (Fig A). 2. Line up the screws to the screw holes in the back of the gantry and screw the air valve assembly to the gantry. Screw one screw in partially and then the other to ensure proper alignment, then go back and tighten them.

Step 5: Connect Air Line connectors


1. Plug in the four air line connections of the air valve assembly (Fig A), by twisting the connectors to the matching color gantry air lines (Fig B-D). a. Red air line to red air line. b. Blue air line to blue air line. c. Clear blue air line to clear blue air line. b. Clear red air line to clear red air line. e. There is one short air line on the air valve assembly that is unused and will not be hooked up. This short air line may not be included on some models. f. Two short air lines of the air valve assembly are connected together via red connectors. On some models, there are no connectors and this is replaced with one air line. Note: The air lines may need to be moved gently aside so as not to pinch the air lines when putting the cover on.

Step 6: Attach the Power Plugs


1. Note the position of each air assembly power plug before plugging it into the air valve assembly (Fig A). a. The plug with the red marker gets plugged into the bottom plug closest to the back of the gantry. b. The plug with the clear/white marker gets plugged into the middle plug. c. The plug with no marker gets plugged into the last spot. 2. Plug in each power plug by squeezing it gently and pushing it straight into the housing (Fig B).

Step 7: Reinstall Gantry Cover and Turn On Air


1. Reinstall the gantry cover by screwing in the two screws that hold it in place (Fig A). The air lines may need to be moved gently aside so as not to pinch the air lines when putting the cover on. 2. Turn on the air supply and the computer. 3. The air valve assembly replacement is completed. 4. Return the old air valve assembly to Wizard International, Inc.
