PLEASE NOTE: Additional files in support of my application are posted online.

I have submitted this text-only resume to conform to the limitations of the online application system.
Due to the nature of this position, I have also created and posted a multimedia resume and a brief
slide show outlining why I believe I am the best candidate for the position.

Please take a look at these two files online. You can find them here:

1. Life and Times of Meri Aaron Walker: Teaching / Learning / Publishing

I have had a rich career! This file is a multi media timeline of my experience relevant to this
position. It includes text, photos, links to online video and to a recording of a virtual class at
WiZiQ.

XTimeLine is a cross-platform-compatible tool available free online. xTimeLines enable authors to

sketch out a top-level plot, deliver one-paragraph summaries of each point on a timeline, and
also allow readers to dive deeper if they want more detail about individual points. I love the way
XTimeLine allows users to quickly sketch out a rich data stream while protecting readers from
information overload. I enjoyed using it to create this resume!
http://www.xtimeline.com/timeline/Meri-s-Teaching-Learning-Life-and-Times

And here’s a link to a quick video I made to show you how to use xTimeLine, in case it’s not
immediately obvious: http://www.screencast.com/t/oy88Jd0WA

2. Why Pick Me?

This file is a slideshow that quickly presents why I believe I am the candidate you should hire for
the position of Distance Education Specialist at SOU.

I am a real fan of Cliff Atkinson’s “Beyond Bullet Points” approach to using PowerPoint to tell
memorable stories. This show utilizes Cliff’s well-researched 5-point approach to delivering the
story that holds the data together, thereby enabling viewers to quickly discern both the “big
picture” and the “crucial arguments,” without overwhelming short-term memory.

It would be my great pleasure to discuss any or all of the points in this show in a face-to-face
interview with you very soon! http://www.slideshare.net/thevmcoach/why-pick-me
