3/31/04 Ch. 6 & 7- Highest themes- Moses, Theseus, Cyrus, Romulus- Virtues; New moules/orders- Invariable benefit. Believe it, armed prophets succeed, denounces of vices/ills of Italy. Moses- bring people back to first principals; Religion in politics, armed prophets. If you depend on the arms of others, security is unsure; Existing order of modes- replace it with the new usurpers of the old order will support you more to bring about the new order. Chapter 25- Re-examining thematically, ~virtues/advantages of time. Depends on fortune. Accordance w/ necessities of the circumstance. Fortune does everything in human affairs. Human free will= . Free will lessens the role of fortune in human affairs. Much less, frequent and push back fortune.
