CORRIGENDUM

In the meeting of the Board of Studies in English held on 28
th
October, 2009, it was
resolved to send a few clarifications regarding the syllabi of English of different classes.

1] The two short stories from F.Y.B.A. Optional English G1 - (i) How Much Land
Does A Man Require, and (ii) Monal Hunt and The Two Short Stories from
F.Y.B.Com Additional English :- (a) Marriage is a Private Affair, and (b) A Days
Wait stands deleted for the Annual Examination, to be held in April, 2010.

2] T.Y.B.A. G-3 paper has an Oral Examination of 20 marks at the end of the year. The
students will maintain a journal of at least five practicals and the oral examination
would be based on the journal. There would be separate passing for both theory and
oral examination.

3] The topics mentioned for T.Y.B.A. G-3 paper should be followed as per the edition
of the prescribed text Communicative Grammar of English by Leech and Svartvik.

4] The part of Ash Wednesday which is included in the prescribed text is to be
studied .
5] In M.A. English Part-I, CC-3 paper Literary Studies, the topic Aristotles Poetics
mean the following titles :-
i) Art and Nature
ii) Imitation as an Aesthetic Term
iii) Poetic Truth
iv) End of Fine Art

6] M.A. English Part-II, OC-70 American Literature. The full title of Sylvia Plaths
prescribed poem is Suicide off the Egg Rock.
