My Hometown The second most northern town in Sarawak and also a border town to two district of Brunei, Limbang.

A peaceful town, away from all the ruckus of the war and crimes. Limbang is actually not a town but more to small town or I would say pekan. I will describe it into a few things. Places, economy and tourism, and food. Limbang is not really very pretty to see and nothing to see while you walk aroud the town. But during Friday, the town will be full of people from other places and country. Pasar Tamu is one of the example. Pasar Tamu is a place where people and fols came to town to sell their goods from the farm and river. Many thing were sold in this Tamu such as rice, fishes, fruits, vegetables, Kuih and many more. Limbang Plaza is a centre for Limbang. The building consist of Purnama Hotel at the left side, shopping complex and government office at the top of the shopping complex. The mall consist about 50 shopping outlets varies from clothes, food, and entertainment. Taman Tasik Bukit Mas is an iconic place for resident of Limbang to relieves their stress and relax. Beautiful scenery of the lake fascinate many people to come there. Limbang is located between our neighbor country that is Brunei. Citizen of Brunei often come to Limbang to spend their weekend. Brunei is split into two part, brunei that consist of Brunei-Muara, Belait and Tutong, while the other part is Temburong. My village is only 3 km from Temburong. Limbang is consider as the part of tourism attraction because of the strategic places. After the new reign of government that been hold by BN, YB Tuan Haji Hasbi Habibullah make Limbang a more prosperity town. Every end of the month, an expo will be held by MARA. This is based on the tourism to attract the tourist from Brunei and also from other country around the world. It is to ensure the money keep flowing in to Limbang. With this Limbang can finish establishing their second city. Like other places and other division in Sarawak, Limbang also has its own food and delicacies. Some of Limbang delicacies also popular in other district. Tahai is one of the major type of food consume by the resident of Limbang. Lawas is a major manufacture of this food because they lives near the sea. Ambuyat also a type of food

that popular that favour by the resident. Other part of Sarawak called it Linut. Ambuyat is actually a Bruneian dish that derived from the interior trunk of a sago palm. The texture is almost the same as tapioca starch. Ambuyat is also delicacies for the people of Sabah. Ambuyat is eaten with a bamboo fork called chandas, by rolling the ambuyat into a roll and dipped into sambal. The sambal varies from spicy to sour depend on the people who eat it. for me, I would like to eat it with the crab sauce that mix with eggs and chilli sauce. Another type of food is kelupis. Kelupis is almost the same as ketupat but it roll with a type of leaf. The rice use for ketupat is a normal plain rice while kelupis is using glutinous rice. Lemiding is also a type of jungle fern that can be found scatter around Limbang. Other part of Sarawak called this as Midin or some of them Sayur Melayu. It is similar to pucuk paku at peninsular but more crispier. It is popular because of it taste and texture and also it own crispiness. It usually served in two ways, either fried with garlic or belacan. Limbang is a town full of people that warm, sociable and and easily to make friends. The scenery that maybe cannot be found anywhere. Mouth-watering delicacies make Limbang to attract many tourist to visit. the town of Limbang that rapidly growing will make Limbang the best town ever.
