Executive Summary
Statement of Purpose
The objective of this proposal is to better facilitate the needs of the Ofce of Housing & Residential Life specically Housing & Residential Life (HRL) seeks to provide a positive community environment that enhances students overall learning, personal development, and academic success. This proposal seeks to build upon that very distinction.
The primary goal of this proposal is to restructure the way that the Ofce of Housing & Residential Life categorizes and facilitates work-orders and the work order system itself. Additionally, this proposal also seeks to realign the Maintenance Assistance Staff by incorporating a Head Maintenance Assistant to better facilitate and profoundly increase the structure, the structure of the Ofce of Housing & Residential Life.
The desired result of restructuring the work order system and reframing the role and the anatomy of the Maintenance Assistance Staff, is to increase both the efciency and accountability of the Ofce of Housing & Residential Life. the residence hall community for the better. The creation of a Head Maintenance Assistant will incorporate a profoundly organized and concise delegation structure residence hall community in its entirety. The Head Maintenance Assistant is expected to abide by, but not limited to, the by the responsibilities listed below:
The HMA is responsible for attending the Head Resident Assistants (HRA) weekly meetings to give commentary related to the status of each buildings maintenance concerns for the week prior. Responsible for performing maintenance rounds in all ve buildings & facilitating follow-ups with residents related to maintenance service requests while the HMA is on duty. Responsible for holding keys to the Ofce of Housing & Residential Life, in addition to holding a building key for every building to facilitate maintenance rounds to promote efciency. Responsible for working 20 hours in the Ofce of Housing & Residential Life. Responsible for facilitating & overseeing follow-up emails for rejected, approved, completed, and notice of work orders submitted for residents via their ofcial NYIT email account.

Responsible for facilitating and updating the maintenance posters on the info boards of the buildings to keep students knowledgeable about preventative practices that can be done to avoid the submittance of a work order; this information is imperative for on-going and reoccurring issues.
