TRAINING
Definition:
Organized activity aimed at imparting information and/or instructions to improve the recipient's performance or to help him or her attain a required level of knowledge or skill.

Meaning:
Every organization has certain goal, in order to achieve them, organization need an appropriate employees who can full fill the organization goals. In reality every individual is not capable to understand how to tackle or which process he should adopt in order to complete the task. Training is one of the easiest method to make your employees understand the development phase by giving them extra knowledge or skills, and by giving them information and instructions.

Benefits:
Training has lots of benefits that in actual has become essential part for an organization. Knowledge and skills are provided to them which make their jobs easy.

2 Training needs analysis Globalization Globalization is one of the biggest factor; every thing is continuously changing in business world. Employees are being provided by training for whole life of career. Competition is so high in business world that without training it would not be possible to stay up-to-date.

Motivation Motivation is key for success. Without motivation employees cannot see their selves doing better, training gives motivation to their employees. Boredom is reduced by providing them new skills and knowledge.

Cost effective Training is always cost effective. How? Because hiring new employee with desired skills are far more expensive than training the existing employee.

TRAINING NEEDS ANALYSIS

Definition:
Training needs analysis is a systematic process of understanding training requirements. It is conducted at three stages - at the level of organization, individual and the job, each of which is called as the organizational, individual and job analysis.

Meaning:
Training needs analysis is the first step in the process of training and development. Lots of money is spent on training, time is consumed during a training sessions and other resources are consumed in it which automatically makes training an expensive process. Training needs analysis indicates that is there a need of training or not since training is really an expensive process in terms of money and time. TNA also indicate that the result which would come out of training session will contribute in organizations goals directly or indirectly.

3 Training needs analysis Once the process on TNA is completed, decision has to be made whether to conduct training or not. Another view of the training need is that, it is the discrepancy between what is and what should be. Training needs analysis has a proper foundation which makes it each n every step unique. Companies perform training sessions after completing the whole procedure in order to save them from long hectic and failure of training session. Analysis is really helpful as it gives information about what to and how to teach employees. Assessment tells what skills are to be delivered, what type of knowledge is required, the education of new technologies especially for old employees not of this era. Sometimes after a complete analysis company came to know that every factor mentioned above is already there in the employee except motivation so, they highlight the requirement of the training that would bring out productivity of employee and make the training effective. Following is the procedure of training needs analysis. Its in 3 stages:

Organizational analysis: In the organizational analysis factors which are studied are Organizational mission, vision, goals, people inventories, processes, performance data. It actually focuses on short listing of the company and all the factors which will directly effect the training session. What kind of learning is required to know the environment is analyzed in it. For example Nokia and Apple have a routine to conduct a survey every year to know the short term and long term goals of the organization.

Job analysis: In the job analysis the main objective is to understand the what factor of the training development stage. It is decided in job analysis that what type of intervention is needed in it. Worker oriented approach and task oriented approach is taken in to consideration in this analysis. In worker oriented approach certain behaviors are identified and certain jobs are asked. In task oriented approach, activities to be performed in certain job. Program evaluation is done in this and former decide the intervention.

Individual analysis: Individual analysis, name its self reveals the information, this analysis deals with who needs training and what type of training is required. Individual employee performance is taken by comparing his personal appraisal data with expected level or standard of performance. Questionnaires, 360 feedback, personal interviews etc. are means to conduct analysis. Competency ratings (peers, bosses, customers, sub ordinate) are also use by many companys to rate their managers.
