Ph.D. degree: Students shall complete all requirements within 2 to 7 years from initial enrollment; however, approved leave periods will not be counted as terms of enrollment. C. Qualifications for application: Applicants must meet the following qualifications as well as requirements of each school or graduate institute. 1. Status eligibility: (1) Applicants are neither Taiwan R.O.C. citizens nor overseas Chinese. (2) Applicants who had Taiwan R.O.C. nationality, must have given up their Taiwan R.O.C. nationality for 8 years or more and approved by the Ministry of the Interior Taiwan R.O.C. Counting back from the day of application, applicants must have continuously resided abroad for more than 6 years (8 years for School of Medicine and School of Dentistry applicants). (1) (2) 2. Education eligibility: A master degree awarded by universities recognized by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan R.O.C. is required. Please refer to each school's requirement for other eligibility criteria. ()() 3. 4. Related enrollment regulations must comply with the International Students Studying in Taiwan Regulations from the Ministry of Education Taiwan R.O.C. and other related regulations. D. Documents required: Each school requires different document, applicant shall meet all intended program specific requirement, in languages other than English or Chinese must be translated into English or Chinese in order to be reviewed. Incomplete applications and application without handwritten signed statement of veracity will not be considered. E. Interview: Some schools require telephone or webcam interviews. If an interview is required, the applicant will be notified via email or phone call for the time and date. Admission Quota of Ph.D.: 44. Final number of admission offers will be determined by Ministry of Education, Taiwan 44 I. Notification and requirements after acceptance: 1. Accepted students must present overseas Taiwan representative office verified diplomas and transcripts during the registration process. 2. Students who have not awarded tuition waiver and monthly stipend scholarship will need to provide proof of financial support (US$15,000 or equivalent amount) stamped, sealed, and mailed by the bank. Fail to provide proof will be declined the admission. () 15,000 3. All new students need to provide 4 months overseas medical insurance proof for their first 4 months stay in Taiwan (if no insurance coverage available in your local area, you may purchase upon registration with TWD2000 cost). 4( )(80) 4. International students arrive TMU after one-third of the semester will not be allowed to register. 5. If an international student has been expelled from an educational institute in Taiwan R.O.C. for having failed the morality and conduct evaluation, failed academically, or sentenced for a criminal case, he/she may not apply for enrollment according to the rules and regulations listed here.
