Organization behavior is a field of study that investigates the impact that individual and groups behave within organizations

in the form of reality abstraction. From organization behavior, we are able to see the different type of scientific disciplines such as sociology, psychology, politics, economic and others. We can improve labour attitudes and behaviors through understanding and explaining to them by applying knowledge and strategies (E.g. Managerial Control Strategies (Edwards, 1979)). By looking to left or right on your organization, you able to notice there are different type of human behavior. In order to understand and improve human behavior, organization behavior is introduced. An organization is structure or mechanism manned by group of individuals who are working together towards a common goal (Morye). Organization defines as a setup for a foundation of management and it is develops into manageable components to control and manage people to archive the organization goal. What is meaning of the identity? The identity is the combination of features that capture humans distinct nature. Peoples are hiding behind the mask to acting to present a unique performance or negotiate with others. Besides that, the peoples always shift from religious. As an example, people who work at the front stage normally will carry out public performance while people who work at backstage will focus on sources and characters. So, how do organizations affect your identity? Here come the arguments, the organization affect the people identity or the people identity affects the organization? Organizational scholars have implemented the social identity theory and have used it widely in the organizational environment (Javadi, 2011). Organizational identity as a degree to which people consider themselves as members of an organization (Rousseau, 1998) which means the people identity is based on organizational identity and it will directly create and increase/decrease the people motivation. Relationship between the organization and peoples are very unique (Liponen et al., 2004) able to describes the organizational identity has the effect on organizational citizenship behavior and it might be possible for enhances the behavior into the organization as well with the speech from Laabs (1995) with it is easier to explain what workspace spiritually dis not than what it is. Culture can be explains as consensus views about how the members of a group ought to behave. There are 2 types of the cultures traits. Healthy traits is to focus on the success likes team effort and willing to accept commitment to improvement while the unhealthy traits is the

team with short term goal and blaming for everything together without focus. With applying the healthy and positive movement, it able to lead an organization walks to the success path and also able to lead the organization citizens to have the positive and healthy working mindset. Companies with strong cultures are believed to bear the shocks of the external environment, and have direction and unity while achieving the corporate objectives (Deal and Kennedy, 1982). Study result from the (Money, Hillenbrand, & Camara, 2008) shows that the meaning and engagement in work brings positive benefits for the organization and individual. This proves that if Im one of the people in the success organization, it will lead me to the success path and it will grow up my inner and outer personal skills too. The improving of my identity will lead me; people and organization improve as well. Fineman (2005) says: At first blush, the positive turn offers a seductive discourse, with much promise. It presents a broad vision of the sunnier side of like, where positiveness can be harnessed for noble individual and organizational ends. It takes over, claim its proponents, where positive thinking gurus leave off, by applying rigorous scientific method to the folk nostrums of positivity. Recruitment and selection can have a significant cultural impact at all levels in the organization. If managers are trying to foster a particular type of culture in the organization generally, it is sensible to ensure that this message is communicated to those contemplating to join the company. It is after all, likely to be easier to recruit the right people in the first place than to change their attitudes later. (William et al, 1989). From the paragraph, once again we can say that the organization is affecting the people work and identity. Hows? The people identity change according to the organizations product, labor control, value of individual. At the same time, the paragraph also telling us that there is the possible for a people to change the organization. With choose the wrong people or not the right attitude people to join the organization, the organization and the other organization people identity might be change as well. Employees play in the successful implementation of organizational change is increasing, yet relatively is little is known about the resources that enable them to rise above the difficulties and stress accompanying organizational change (Jiseon, M., & Myeong-Gu, 2012). This shows us an argument: the employee will affecting the destination of an organization by their own identity and it also shows that the effort, difficulties and stress from organization onto the people will change their identity as well. Researchers have found individual employees change-related

attitudes and behaviors are related to post change organizational performance (Kim & Mauborgne, 2003; Robertson, Roberts & Porras, 1993). Labour process theory (Marxs) of the organization also will affect the people identity. Labour process theory is a guideline for the labour cases to people who sit at higher management. What is the labour process theory? What is the relation between labour process theory and organization? And how will it affect people identity? The extent to which organizations work is separated into different jobs to be done by different people stated by Moorhead and Griffin (1998, 448). Humans have the great mind to think of creative idea, able to plan and become seller or buyer. Humans are the unit to form the labour structure to help organization to generate high income & output and reduce spending costs. There are advantages and disadvantages with the applied of the labour process theory. The advantage is to provide training to a labour in order to reach the standardization with the lower training cost with the return of a useful labour which able to produce daily out efficiency. The disadvantage is the labour have to bear with repetitive daily jobs without having any job satisfaction. With the labour process theory, we able to see that a people identity will be change from a relaxing to stressful and satisfaction of job scope to un-satisfaction job scope. The peoples also have to bear with the employment contract and the labour problem with the status of agrees or disagrees. The only method for the peoples to get the job to earn the income to live, the humans have to hide their true identity behind of the mask and act and perform the drama for the employers or other people to see. If we stand opposite position to see this matter, this labour process will help those laziness peoples to improve and change their self identity to become more hardworking, work with efficiency with the increasing of quality of work. Some of the peoples are with the identity of alienated and exploitation. In order to motivate or guide them back into the right path, Right to Manage theory is very important. The Right to Manage will explains about the ownership, function and team which will help the management to over counter and solve the labour problems. There are few management techniques such as scientific management, human relations and central concern which are to explain the labour problem with the solution provided.

Power tends to corrupt, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Great men are always bad man, Lord Action (1887). What is means by power? Why everyone is hungry of power? Power is likes a capacity of a person, team, or organization to influence others. Dahl, 1957 stated the power in interpersonal terms: A has power over B to the extent that he can get B to do something that B would otherwise not do. A thing we able to confirm from this sentence are: Power is authority; Power is influence. With the power, we can do different types of things such as decision maker, budget approver, planning, control and others. Here come another question, is the power is good or bad? If the power is positive sign, it will help a people increase his/her ability to achieve goal; if the power is negative sign, it will control the people freedom. The power of include others can be categorized into 2 dimensions: Organizational power and Personal Power. Organizational power can be categorized into legitimate power, reward power and coercive. Three types of the power is use at the different time. Legitimate power will be use for clear request with polite and follow up from time to time. The reward power will be use while offers rewards with simple and the coercive power is use to provide warning and explanation with detail to makes people understand. There are 2 categories for the personal power which are expert power and referent power. Expert power to listening something carefully and understand it important and then the referent power is use during provide any promising and shows to acceptance and positive regards. Organizational politics is influence peoples using discretionary behavior to help to promote personal goal/ target. Normally, we can found this organizational politics in the higher level management of an organization. Why? All of this happens due to the people natural behavior. When the time you at the higher level in the organization, you will start to worry your position will be take away. In order to protect you from the position, here come the organizational politics. Besides that, the organization politics will also happens around the low level management people where there are people fighting to climb up. Power produces; it produces reality; it produces domains of objects and rituals of truth (Foucault, 1977: 194). Peoples must understand and learn the meaning of the power and ways to apply it in order to obtain excellent result and achieve goal. The power and influences is happening across the organizational hierarchy level. Everyone in the organization is hungry of obtaining the power and influences. Study results

shows that the effect of transformational leadership on group-level effectiveness is mediated by group-level person-organization value congruence, and that despite its otherwise important role in leadership processes, person-supervisor value congruence is not a significant mediator when person-organization congruence is included in an analytic model (Hoffman, Bynum, Piccolo , & Sutton, 2011). There will be effect of power and influence on performance & commitment. If we apply the power and influence effectively on to the job performance it will increase the citizenship behavior and decrease counterproductive behavior. There will be increasing of the affective commitment and decrease of normative commitment if we apply power and influence effectively onto the organizational commitment. As an example, if the production engineer able to use the power and influence effectively onto the project, the output and the quality of product will be increasing as well. As a conclusion, it shows that the organization able to affect my identity with different type of ways. The interaction between affective commitment and sense of community significantly influences organization citizen behavior (Katono, Manyak, Katabaazi, & Kisenyi, 2012). Firstly, in order for me to improve the relationship between people in the organization to work, I need to cover my true identity with wearing a mask and just to shows the inner and outer identity the organization wanted to see through understanding and learning the organization behavior. Soon, my original identical will be gone with the replacement by the masks identity. Mathieu and Zajac (1990) describes that the organization should lead to improved interpersonal relationships and performance, perception of alternatives, intentions to search or leave and turnover. Secondly, if an organization is always provide bonus and training courses to the labour after having the excellent performing and gain profit, this will help to increase peoples motivation and it is same goes to me. With the division of labour, my job will become bored and I will never feel satisfy due to the job is repeating and my personal identity will change from cheerful to depress; motivate to unmotivated and I will feel working life is meaningless. If the organization provides healthy culture traits, my identity will become more positive, e.g: think positive, effective work, willing to accept comment to improve and other. Organization commitment has received much attention in literature (Morgan and Hunt, 1994) and

organizations will receive higher profit. Furthermore, my identity will be affected by the power and influence of an organization. Some of the organization will not recognized my extra works likes provide creative ideas and extra working hours to prove that I am capable. Organ (1988) says organization citizen behavior is an outcome of a committed workforce, which is characterized by voluntary extra role behaviors that are not recognized by the formal organizations reward systems. There is an argument for both management and staffs typically act on the basic of a false understanding of the nature of power. Power is staff typically treated as if it was an individual possession, rather than as a relationship between the people (Knights & Roberts, The Power of Organization or the organization of power?, 1982). Even though I understand the true meaning of the power but in order to survive and get a better position in the organization, I need to understand and learn how to be a part of the organization politician. But, the organization politician wills also affecting me if lets say the power and influence of a politician I joined is gone. From this assignment, I learned the unique and important of the relationship between the organizations with organization citizen. Organization can affect organization citizen through the organization behavior. The organization is forms by units of people; therefore there are many types of behaviors, cultures, power, politics and others. In order to maximize the output, understanding of the different cultures and behaviors is very important to the organizational. After understanding, organizational need to design and implement the training courses to train the people in order to reach to the standardization and maximize output. This training will affect and change the people identity directly. I also learned that the personal power and influence is very important to get a better relationship in an organization people and position. Why? An organization is a place full of challenging and fighting without any gentle. If I still holding pure identity, I might not be able to stand in the organization until to the last. If we stand at another angle to see the whole picture, we will get another puzzle that telling us that there is the possible for the people identity affecting the organization as well. The good identity will improve the organization and vice versa. This proves that the relationship between organization and citizen is very important to each other. The organization need to take care of the organization citizen by providing them motivation and satisfaction as they are helping
Page 6 of 9

the organization to earn money and the same time the organization citizen also need to take care organization as their house and work as their duty in order to get a maximum output and return. (2552 Words)
