Drilling Systems
Combined experience, deep commitment
Industry-leading VetcoGray products and systems have been proven in drilling and production applications for more than a century. Market-changing Hydril Pressure Control technologies have endured drillings harshest conditions since 1933. Individually, each has been on the forefront of the innovations that continue to redefine high pressure, high temperature and deepwater frontiers. Together, this equipment helped set the current water depth record for drilling at 10,011 ft. And together, as GE Oil & Gas, Drilling & Production they will continue to engineer and deliver time-tested, industry renowned equipment and systems.
Control Systems
GE Oil & Gas manufactures blowout preventer control systems that lead the industry in reliability, functionality and versatility. With a strong focus on the critical deepwater environment, the Hydril Pressure Control Multiplex (MUX) BOP Control System has repeatedly set the benchmark for reliability and time spent on bottom. We also provide shallow-to-medium depth, piloted subsea systems and high-quality surface BOP control units for demanding applications in extreme climates.
Diverters
Our Hydril Pressure Control and VetcoGray diverters vent shallow gas flows safely from any bottom-founded or floating rig. Field-proven reliability stems from mechanical simplicity: one signal executes the diverting process, and an integral vent design eliminates extraneous valves and interconnections.
Hydril Pressure Control Flow Selector Hydril Pressure Control Deepwater Multiplex
Proven, industry-leading performance at water depths up to 12,500 ft. Our standard design has provided 364 days of continuous operation with only one stack pull due to hurricane evacuation. Used in diverter vent lines, flow selectors always keep the discharge line open and permit selection of a downwind line. They cannot be shut in.
Hydril Pressure Control MSP 21" 2000 psi Hydril Pressure Control Direct Piloted
Increase your drilling uptime with our shallow-to-medium depth piolted hydraulic control system. Applicable to surface installations, this lightweight, compact MSP provides both diverter and annular BOP functionality.
Hydril Pressure Control MSP 29" 500 psi and 30" 1000 psi
Well suited for surface installations, the Hydril Pressure Control MSP has withstood the test of time, proving itself as both a diverter and an annular BOP.
Hydril Pressure Control Riser Fill-Up Valve Hydril Pressure Control Surface System
Our basic surface control systems have a wide range of features and options that make them suitable for any application. In case of unexpected evacuation of drilling fluids, this valve prevents collapse of the subsea riser by backfilling it with seawater.

This spider supports the riser string on hydraulic sliding dogs. Six hydraulic units move the cam ring up and down to make or break the connection.
VetcoGray Gimbal
The gimbal sits under the spider to provide shock absorption and assistance with the weight of the riser string. Our design also compensates for up to 6 degrees of offset whilte running or retrieving the riser string.

Tension rings
The tension ring attaches to the telescopic joint and forms a termination point between the riser system and the tensioning system on a floating rig. It is used to pull and support tension to give the riser string more stability. GE Oil & Gas designs and manufactures a variety of tension rings proven to perform in the harsh environments of deepwater drilling.

Connectors
GE Oil & Gas VetcoGray connectors are the trusted industry standard for subsea wellhead and bop connections. More than two-thirds of the global floating rig fleet use VetcoGray connectors. Our light weight, smaller footprint, robust connectors use our industry renowned metal gasket sealing technology designed to withstand internal pressures to 15,000 psi and temperatures to 350 F making them the preferred choice for extreme environment drilling applications.
DW HD H-4 connector
VetcoGray SHD H-4 hydraulic subsea connector VetcoGray Intermediate flex joint
The intermediate flex joint is installed below the telescopic joint to allow for angular deflection up to 20 degrees in the top portion of the riser string. It has a tensile load capacity of 2.5 million lbs and an internal pressure rating of 1,500 psi. This Super Heavy Duty connector is the latest member of the H-4 family. Designed for use with our MS 700 and SMS 700 wellheads, this connector has exceptional bending load capacities and fatigue life characteristics. It is ideal for deepwater applications and critical service where high bending loads are anticipated.

Elastomers
For decades, Hydril Pressure Control equipment has included customized elastomer expendables and metal parts that have set new standards for high performance in modern oilfields. Independent parts producers and general line rubber manufacturers cannot match the quality, durability and service provided by out OEM specialty rubber products.

Pulsation Dampeners
Hydril Pressure Control and Flowguard pulsation dampeners reduce the damaging effects of fluid-flow pulsations in suction, discharge and flowing hydraulic system lines. They provide energy storage in critical hydraulic systems, create a transfer barrier to prevent mixture in multi-fluid systems, and compensate for leakage and thermal expansion in many types of fluid-flow applications.
Drop In Valves
Our original Checkguard valve is an essential drilling tool that prevents return flow during a kick. It can be used in most drilling situations where return flow through the drill string is a risk and the benefits of a full-bore sub are needed during normal operation. It can be installed as needed, does not affect measurement-whiledrilling tools and permits retrieval of other through-string tools.

RADAR provides an efficient, safe and cost-effective method of monitoring and analyzing lifecycle wear of drilling and production risers, choke and kill lines, and other metal pipes. The internalinspection vehicle acquires weld-quality and pipe-thickness data in real time for immediate analysis, while simultaneously recording video for further visual inspection. RADAR saves valuable time and money while helping minimize risk by identifying marginal equipment and enabling better maintenance and replacement plans. Inspections are 60% faster than conventional methods and all equipment is portable so inspections can be performed almost anywhere, including pipe yards, remote dockside facilities and onboard offshore rigs.
