Introduction
Benefits of an automated home An automated home coordinates security, temperatures, lighting, and audio/video automatically for safety, energy savings, and convenience. Automatically dimming lights and changing heating and cooling set points when you are away from home can greatly reduce energy costs. Remote access lets you view security video on a laptop or web-enabled cell phone. Adding home automation can also increase the value of your home.
Internet - HAI offers video Surveillance capabilities over the Internet, so you can get a visual check of your home via your web-enabled phone or PC. Receive e-mails or text messages to inform you of what is happening at home. Telephone - Not only can you call to check on the status of your home, but your system can actually contact you! Be informed of an alarm or that children are safe as soon as they have returned home from their day at school. HAI offers a home automation system for every lifestyle. Price depends on the size of your home and the options that you desire. Your HAI dealer will evaluate your home and your familys needs to customize a system that is just right for you. HAI products will make your home greener by making it more energy efficient. As an added benefit you will save money on your energy bills. If used properly, your system can practically pay for itself in energy savings.is

When the Program Runs the Welcome Window that shows many options 1. Create new program 2. Open and existing program from your PC 3. Open a recent used or frequent used program 4. Download a program direct from the PLC memory to the PC 5. Enter the Monitoring mode 6. Exit the program Chose the first Option: Create new program.
Now Selection of the extensions for our system (Com. Module) 1. 2. Click Next Select the Extension module (SR2COM01) Click Add.
Select the Method for Programming Ladder Diagram (LD) or Flow Block Diagram (FBD) Chose the ladder diagram. Click Next.
Now we are Ready for starting the programming before that we must check the PC >> PLC Communication is ready.
CONNECTING PLC
Form the program menu Select Transfer >> COMMUNICATION configuration. The Configure Window appears; Now Click on Test if something wrong an error will appear checks the connection, else the connection is fine Processed and Click OK.
10
Now to Configure the Communication module and the phone number of the modem to which the Zelio relay will be connected; Select Directories form the program menu Directories >> Directory of Remote stations

Hardware software requirement To program you need a PC With at least a Pentium processor a Windows 95, Windows 98 or Windows NT 4.01)operating system Programming cable (connecting cable between PC and plc)
Features The main features of the home automation are as follows: 24 V DC power supply 6 digital inputs (push buttons-proximity sensor) 2 digital outputs (alarm-motor) Message Alarm 2 Relays
Our project (Home automation system) consists of four main small systems 1. Message alarm (when windows open or gate). 2. Lighting control system. 3. Automatic garage control. 4. Security control system.
Wiring connections:
A smoke detector :
is a device that detects smoke, typically as an indicator of fire. Commercial, industrial, and mass residential devices issue a signal to a fire alarm system, while household detectors, known as smoke alarms, generally issue a local audible or visual alarm from the detector itself. Smoke detectors are typically housed in a disk-shaped plastic enclosure about 150 millimeters (6 in) in diameter and 25 millimeters (1 in) thick, but the shape can vary by manufacturer or product line. Most smoke detectors work either by optical detection (photoelectric) or by physical process (ionization), while others use both detection methods to increase sensitivity to smoke. Sensitive alarms can be used to detect, and thus deter, smoking in areas where it is banned such as toilets and schools. Smoke detectors in large commercial, industrial, and residential buildings are usually powered by a central fire alarm system, which is powered by the building power with a battery backup. However, in many single family detached and smaller multiple family housings, a smoke alarm is often powered only by a single disposable battery.
Distance sensor :
Measuring distances up to 13 m with high resolution, most compact sensor of its class Precise, reproducible measurements also under changing environmental conditions.
Dc Motor :
A DC motor is a mechanically commutated electric motor powered from direct current (DC). The stator is stationary in space by definition and therefore so is its current. The current in the rotor is switched by the commutator to also be stationary in space. This is how the relative angle between the stator and rotor magnetic flux is maintained near 90 degrees, which generates the maximum torque. DC motors have a rotating armature winding but non-rotating armature magnetic field and a static field winding or permanent magnet. Different connections of the field and armature winding provide different inherent speed/torque regulation characteristics. The speed of a DC motor can be controlled by changing the voltage applied to the armature or by changing the field current. The introduction of variable resistance in the armature circuit or field circuit
allowed speed control. Modern DC motors are often controlled by power electronics systems called DC drives. The introduction of DC motors to run machinery eliminated the need for local steam or internal combustion engines, and line shaft drive systems. DC motors can operate directly from rechargeable batteries, providing the motive power for the first electric vehicles. Today DC motors are still found in applications as small as toys and disk drives, or in large sizes to operate steel rolling mills and paper machines.
A buzzer (Alarm):
Or beeper is an audio signaling device, which may be mechanical, electromechanical, or piezoelectric. Typical uses of buzzers and beepers include alarm devices, timers and confirmation of user input such as a mouse click or keystroke.
