1) T writes on the board the word report. T invites the students to give as much meaning as possible about the word. 2) T writes writing next to the previous word. T asks students, when people usually use report writing? 3) T explains to the students about report writing and its function to their everyday life. 1) T writes the headline on the board. A mystery disappearance of an English teacher: Student suspected. 2) T tells the students that they are going to write a news report using the headlines. 3) T asks the students to get into groups of 5. Next, T gives out slips of paper to each group. 4) T tells the students that today, they are going to be a reporter. On the slip of paper they need to write a question which will be given to the teacher to be answered. The answered questions than will be used in the news report they are going to write. 5) T gives out prompts such as what? When? Who? Why? on the whiteboard to help

T chooses one of the students from each group to become the editor. T gives the editors a slip of paper containing a checklist. 1) T tells the students that now they are going to write another report individually. 2) It is a different report which uses graph as the main information. However, it uses the same format as the previous report. 3) T gives out the handout to each student. T discusses about the information in the handout with the students. 4) T asks the students to write a simple report based on the handout given.
