    Armin Hofmann was a Swiss graphic designer and educator born in 1920. He studied at Kunstgewerbeschule in Zurich and helped establish the Swiss International Style of graphic design, which favored sans-serif typography, asymmetrical layouts, and use of grids. As both a designer and teacher, Hofmann believed in simplification, restraint in use of color and typefaces, and creating expressive designs that introduced a thoughtful visual culture.
